Last Sunday, Chung and I spent a good portion of the day tuning my car. Cold start, added more tq down low, fuel pressure, etc. Really have not gotten on it other then just a 1 gear pull since blowing the head gasket back in November.

Wife was busy yesterday, so I jumped in the car and went for a cruise. Pulled away from a stop light and hammered it. The DR's held 2nd gear and I about chit myself. Thought I would cruise down to lower river road to see what life was like down there, and maybe do a 4 gear pull and see what it had in it. As I pulled into the ending portion where most park, there where about 7 motorcycles which about half did not have plates. They looked like race bikes. Anyways, pulled in, got turned around and one of the bike owners asked if I wanted to go. Sure! Just as i warmed up the DR's, a car started approaching.....a brand new Yellow Z06 Corvette. Yep, did not even have plates on it yet! I waited and low and behold, it was a younger dude driving. Told him I wanted to race one of those cars. We chated for a few, then lined 'em up. The bike wanted to see so he was going to follow behind us....I shot him out of the hole due to traction, pulled him in 2nd, pulled from him in 3rd, went I went into 4th gear, his whole car was in my rear view mirror. But when I hit the gas pedel for 4th, Clutch slipped. RPM's went up but car slowed down. Appears I have reached the maxium of the Spec stage I. On the way out, we did a 4th gear pull and I pulled from him till the top of 4th, then just ran out of gear, lifted with approx 1 full car lengh on him.

Just thought I'd share

NICE!!!

Now we need to line you up with the Yellow convertable ;)

I think David has me beat. Although there is a weight difference between us, not sure how much but I would venture to say 200 plus lbs. My boost gauge is not function correctly, but when it dyno'ed the car saw 10 lbs, Jeff said he saw 12 with his guage a couple wks ago. With the new power down lower and more boost, I would like to see what number I put down. I was pulling the new Z06 in every gear, which floored me to be honest. My shifts are not as fast as they once where, but I could see the Z06 falling away from me when I was in boost, then pull up when I went to shift. He was quite surprised, beings the sticker prices for those puppies is a pretty penny:D

Dave is only running about 11psi as well, and I'd venture to guess that the weight difference is bigger than you think. I weighed Michelle's car the other day and it came out around 3550+ driver and Dave's isn't going to be much lighter. I think it would be a hell of a race.

:nice:

I just went to lower river road earlier.

#1) no burn out. gsxr1000 2004.. lost by 2-3 car lenghts but when traction wasn't an issue was dead even

#2) did burn out zx10 2005-2006 lost by 2 1/2 car lengths. both from a dig.

I got them on tape too. But the footage isn't the greatest. I'll hve to tell you the reason why in person. :) :D

Justin, you should be faster because your car should launch better then mine. You gotta check Lower River road out sometime. Give me a halla if you go. Daytime on Saturday or Sunday is getting some cars/bikes. Not many, but a few.

Varian, wish I was there to watch that. Were you running pump gas?

Yeah, that is a nice kill. Not to instigate anything because I love seeing Vettes get nailed, but that Z06 seems like it would have pulled on your car with a better driver. I would assume the guy driving it had no idea how to really handle a car with that much power, or he had the "expensive new car" jitters. Nonetheless, glad to see a Stang smoke it. :hail2:

yep pump 92 + methanol 25psi.

I have yet to even see a c6 zo6 on the street that would be a badass race to get on tape. But the fact that he beat the zo6 i wonder if he will ever come back to lower river road.

Well if I can get close to that I will be happy. I also fear the limits of my clutch, so I may be in the same boat. Either way, it will be fun to get it all done and overwith. I hope that call to you will come sooner than later, just waiting on a couple more dollars to get the custom cam.....:nice:
