Does anyone have opinions on this tire? Its gonna be used as a daily driving tire in PA. I figure the Goodyears that came standard were summer tires so there is no harm in buying summer tires to replace them. Thanks

We have them and love them. We replaced the stock 245/45/17 goodyears with 255/40/17 avs es100's. Its wider and about the same height as stock. They are 100 times better than the factory goodyears. They are not as sticky as some khumos in the dry but have good traction none the less. They are excellent in the rain though. They also have a VERY stiff sidewall and the car fells much more confident going around corners.

They seem to be wearing well also. For example I got 25,000 miles out of a set of khumos, 40,000 out of the stock goodyears, and have 35,000 plus on the avs es100's and look like I could get another 10,000 miles out of the easily. They look awesome on the car too and the sidewall has a lip on it to prevent curb rash which is good because they are on a car my wifes drives most of the time.

I also drove the car in a 4 inch snow and it did fairly well although I am used to snow driving and have never found snow that hard to get around in. Its not awful in the snow like the khumos were.

I would buy this tire again and again. I havent found one that lasts longer/looks better/and is priced so right. It is the best combination for a lower priced tire and worth the few dollars over a khumo. Its a better tire than many more expensive goodyears or other brands.

i too will probably purchase these tires again, i put 275/45/17s all around, i think they look great, tread holds out well, get pretty decent traction w/ the occasional race around town. im pleased, give them a shot.

I have the 275/40s mounted on 03 Cobra wheels and love them.

They are great in the rain, and solid in the corners. I have some twisty roads to/from my house and I love feeling them grip.

I have about 7k miles on them and they look pretty much like new.

I paid $135 mounted and balanced each out the door at Discount Tires.

They don't grip well on launches though, and spin like crazy.

Otherwise, for a daily driver, they are great!

Matt

Had them on my 17's and I now have them on my 18's. I love the tire. In my opinion they are better than the BFG KDW's (had them before the yoko's). You will notice a big difference over the stock Goodyears. They don't spin nearly as much on the 1-2 shift as the Goodyears did and they rarely lose traction on the 2-3. My car would chirp the Goodyears on the 2-3 shift pretty regularly, but I've only done it a couple times with the Yoko's.

I love 'em. I'm running 275-35-18's all around. They ride super soft and quiter than most other tires I've had, and their lateral grip is great. There is only one drawback to this tire, they don't hook too well from a stop, in straight line acceleration. But, nonetheless, I will be purchasing these tires again. They look great and perform well for the money. It's just too bad they don't have a fatter tire for the back wheels. (nothing over 275's for 18 inch rims)....ohh well........ :p

I have had very little trouble with traction under hard launches with these tires... Interesting. I think it's probably the best wet/dry tire on the market. It out performs a lot of the dry weather only tires out there.
