Hi guys, im chris. i just got back into the mustang game after a 3 year hiatus.

this will be my 3rd mustang now. i traded in my 2002 gt 3 years ago for a hemi ram. i needed a truck for work, so i had to let her go.

ive missed that baby from day 1. i do love my truck, and will miss it a TON, but im pretty excited to have another mustang again.

this is the baby.

the price was right, and i had to roll over ALOT on my trade in. i know i overpaid after the trade in, but im okay with it. i will certainly miss the 4x4, but i plan on buying a beater for the snow.

here's the hemi i had to part with

ill miss her. after i recuperate from the money hit im taking right now, i plan on modding up the new (to me) stang.

Ouch... that list price is what I payed for my car new (was a dealer tester car for 4000miles) in 2004!

i paid about 21 - 22k for my 02 back in 2003. i dont remember exactly.

im sure i overpaid some for the car, but i did negotiate ALOT and knocked off over $6000 by the end. my trade in was upside down bigtime, and i really had no wiggle room at all. im just happy i got it for what im paying. im actually paying less monthly than i was with the truck, albeit for 6 years as opposed to 4 years left on the truck.

Hey, congrats! Nice looking GT . Definatly a move up....but that truck is CLEAN. Obviously had alot fo work done to it....as long as you dont transfer the rims (if the pattern is the same) or buy simular ones for the GT, its all good HAHAHAHA

So...you financed $18,000 on a 2004 GT and THEN rolled additional negative equity into the loan from your truck??!?!

Dude, I can appreciate the desire to purchase a mustang as much as the next guy, but that is one bad decision. I had a nice downpayment in hand for just over a year while I looked for a good deal on a mustang within a 200 mile radius of me. It sucked looking for a whole year, but I found a good deal and now I am glad I waited.

Anyway, congrats on being a Mustang owner and congrats to the dealer for finding someone to pay that much for that car.

If your trade in was upside-down by a lot, he didn't knock anything off the price. They made it back by not paying you a lot for the trade in. One of my good friends works at a dealership and he said they do it all the time.

Again, congrats on getting a Mustang, don't get me wrong... I can totally understand your excitement and wanting to get one quickly.

i understand the dealership process. like i said, the first offer was pretty much a raping that i laughed at. there really arent any mustangs for 12 - 13k around here. well, im sure there are, but generally only by owners, and they generally have higher mileage. if i wanted to do this now, or in the near future, my only option was to trade in. i could have sold my truck outright, but that is a hassle, and really, a drawn on process. plus, i hate waiting.

i have been looking at mustangs for over a year actually. its only recently that ive attempted to get one again. around here, all day long they are over 16k. but at that price, they have high miles. i scoured a while, and they are still in the $20k range everywhere in a good 100 mile radius around me. this is the only one under $20k with low mileage ive seen in a while. i went in with a payment in mind i felt comfortable with. they played tough, but in the end, they matched it and i couldnt say no.

i do know that i overpaid. dont get me wrong. but im looking at it as, i went from 59,000 miles to 12,600 miles, my generation rams have a history of the rear ends going, and power steering breaking down and it was only a matter of time before it was going to cost me an arm and a leg to fix it, my monthly payments went down, im saving money in gas BIG TIME, and its a hell of a lot more fun to drive, and black paint on my truck was a NIGHTMARE to keep clean. it was really depressing to be so anal in cleaning and modding it, only to see so many flaws that black cant hide.

anyways, enough of that crap. i understand i paid more than most people would, but i didnt go into it blindly or irrationally. i paid alot, and i got what i wanted. the other option? waiting. and like i already said, i hate waiting.

I went from $117 a month for my 97 cobra, to $470 a month for my 03 Mach. Plus I only owed 2k on my cobra. Now I owe over 20k on my Mach, because I only put 1k down. But I also went from 97,000 miles to 30,000 miles. Dont get me wrong I loved the cobra but it had 3 owners b4 me, and had been abused. My mach was traded in by the original owner for a new 06 GT (crazy if u ask me) so it was in so much better shape. Now I wouldn't get rid of this 1 for anything. Im also glad I didnt trade in the cobra because they weren't gonna give me crap 4 it, I also got to reuse most of my mods on my Mach, and with the money I got from being patient and selling it outright I put right back in mods and other things. I do feel I overpaid a bit, but what the hell, everytime I drive my Mach I 4get all about how much I paid. Not to mention when I just stare at it!!!

Thanks. Mine was 20k b4 the 100k warranty,paint, & interior warranties. Not to mention tax & lic. I paid, or I should say I am paying way 2 much. But what the hell, Im happy as hell...
