GT40P head write up...check in all

why not go mass air when you do the top end? you would get more benefit from the mods you are planning to do and go a long way toward your 250hp goal

Thats very very similar to our GT40P combo. Same exhaust, valve job, milled slightly, cobra intake, 65mm TB, 1.7 rockers etc. The AOD will hurt without a good stall, and steep gears, but once the T5 goes in, it will wake it right up.

true but..here are my question....dose the harness and computer HAVE to be from a 89 or can a i use a harness and computer from a 92?

that will be cool.....if i had to keep the aod for a while...what stall would benifit me? remembering this a DD

a converter is kind of like a clutch. it will spin and then lock at a preset rpm. your stock converter will lock down low for avg street driving. a high stall lets say 3k will still lock low, but if you stomp the gas it will let the engine rev to 3500 at which point it will engage and put the tranny in gear. by letting the engine run to a higher rpm and then going in gear it allows the car to take off in an rpm that is much closer to its optimum power band.
so a car that launches at 1k rpms will not be near as fast off the line as one that leaves at 3k

i see i see... so if i did a 3k stall for normal street driving accelerating while the car not start moving till the rpms are over 3k or is that if on the brake with the rpms up there?
