I tried to do a search but mainly found basic nitrous on stock block threads, I just blew the motor in my 02 gt vert and I'm planning on building it better while I'm in there, my question is what to do, I have a vortech v1 s-trim tuner kit for the car that I have yet to install, I'm going back to school now so funds are limited, I was thinking about my options and I can either build it back stock, and keep the supercharger, or I could sell the supercharger, get a forged bottom end and then get nitrous, my question is what kinda power and times are some of you making with a forged bottom end and a healthy shot of nitrous, supporting mods would help also in determining which route I go. thanks for the help

Rebuilding the engine with forged components wouldn't be that much more expensive. I say you rebuild the engine to withstand high horsepower, and install the blower. You might as well do it right the first time. Either way, nitrous/blowers are more stress on the stock engine components compared to forged parts. You can find forged kits for pretty cheap. This kit runs about $2,000 http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=ESP-14400-020&autoview=sku

well if you build the bottom end and do nitrous i think you would be able to get alot more power than you would if you keep the blower and a stock bottom end.

nitrous does work lol, and is cheaper than the blower. Possible to save up for a bottom end and keep the blower? honestly that would be the best to drive.
i think you could be just as fast with the spray on a built motor.
I ran a 150 shot for a long time and that was good stuff, but i have to say the blower i have now is much more fun to drive.

yeah I would love to keep the blower and build the bottom in but with having to pay to go back to school and the fact I'll be having to pay my car payment off a low paying job while back in school I don't see that happenning, what kinda times were you running with your car with a 150hp shot?

Or spend an extra $300 for the MMR 600

Yea the MMR SB would be close. That rebuild kit from Eagle includes a forged crank...that would cost another $250 from MMR. But then you gotta worry about the gaskets, oil pump, ARP mainstuds, etc. But you're right, it would be more wise to buy a SB from MMR or VT because they know what they are doing. Plus MMR has some quality products for decent prices.
