bc got so lucky. i was upset they gave matt ryan credit as an "amazing game." was such a joke. he didnt play a good game, he played 2 good drives in 2 minutes, not the rest of the 58 minutes.....

but whatever, they got lucky as heck....

Id say scoring twice on a good defense in 2 minutes isnt really getting lucky. Besides Ryan threw 2 td passes the last drive with about 15 seconds left, one just got called back.

As you well know its a 60 minute game and Virginia Tech didnt play all 60 minutes.

THAT is why VT lost...much more than saying BC won. If VT stays with their pressure D they played all game we are talking about VT moving up to 4-5 and BC dropping to 10th. Instead Beamer plays not to lose and lost.

Some good match-ups today. The glaring one is Ohio St at Penn St. I think PSU has a chance but OSU will win. USC is at Oregon so that one should be good too with USC pulling out a close one. The Florida/Georgia game should be interesting in that every season for the last 9 or 10 Florida has had a bye before the UGA game. This week it is reversed where UGA had the bye and Florida played. We'll see if that has a bearing. I doubt it...Florida wins big.

the part i think was getting lucky was that VT was retarded and lost that onside kick. had they not lost that, game is theirs. instead, the onside kick goes to BC, and BC pulls the win..... onside kicks do require a lot of luck, and BC got lucky the VT guy touched it and dropped it.

ryan DID have a good 2 minutes, i'm not disagreeing. i'm saying that them saying he had a good GAME is not true. i feel to win the heisman, the majority of your game should be played well, and you should look like a good player the WHOLE game. matt ryan looked like trash for 58 minutes, and had people questioning him. the last 2 minutes he played like a star. had he played 55+ minutes the way he played the last 2, i'd be more than happy to say he should be up on the heisman list, but he DIDNT he played that way 2 minutes, which is more of a "good couple plays" than a "heisman contender"

JMHO

Why didnt you feel that same way when Florida gave the game away to LSU. You said LSU won it, but now its the opposite.
Because Florida didn't give the game away. They played to win and didn't leave their game plan. As I stated before turnovers are part of the game that your defense will force by pressure on the QB or stripping the ball. Only if you turn the ball over 4-5 times then you can say you gave the opposing team ammo.

VT went away from their defense they played the entire game save the last 3 minutes and went prevent. Only rushing 3-4 on the line and gave the BC QB all day to throw.

Oh on another topic...look for some bad news from the Tigers. Seems some prominent players got into a scuffle at a bar. Probably will get ugly for a few.

So the Pac-10 has joined the SEC in beating each other up during the regular season. USC goes down to the Ducks. Interesting game between Arizona St and Cal tonight.

Florida running out of gas against Georgia...

The USCe Tennessee game is a barn burner. UT led at half 21-0...USC came back and went ahead on a 45 yard FG with 1:30 left to go up 24-21. UT got into FG range with a 43 yarder, lined up, kicked, missed...but wait. 5yd penalty for false start. Line it up again from 48 and put it though. Now in OT....UT hits a FG and USC misses from 41. UT wins...

Looks like we will see UT in the SECCG.

"looks like we will see UT in the SECCG"

not necessarily.... UF could still make it, it isnt an "easy" scenario, but it's not impossible either.... here's the situations, stole this from another poster on another board....

"Now that Tennessee has beaten South Carolina, here are the things that need to happen for us to win the East and go to Atlanta.

Scenario #1
11/3 Florida over Vandy
11/10 Florida over South Carolina
11/10 Auburn over Georgia (or 11/17 Kentucky over Georgia)
AND
Tenneesee goes exactly 2-1 in their final 3 games (vs Arkansas 11/10, vs Vandy 11/17, at Kentucky 11/24)

Note: 3-way tie between Tenn, Georgia and Florida, which would be won by us due to SEC East record. And if Kentucky wins out and makes it a 4-way tie we would also win the tie-breaker.

---------------------------------------

Scenario #2
11/3 Florida over Vandy
11/10 Florida over South Carolina
AND
Kentucky wins their final 3 games (at Vandy 11/10, at Georgia 11/17, vs Tennessee 11/24)

Note: Results in a 3-way tie between Kentucky, Georgia and Florida, which would be won by us due to SEC East record. And if Tenn beats Arkansas & Vandy to create a 4-way tie we would also win the tie-breaker.

--------------------------------------

Scenario #3
11/3 Florida over Vandy
11/10 Florida over South Carolina
11/10 Auburn over Georgia
11/17 Kentucky over Georgia
AND
Tenneesee loses at least one of its final 3 games (vs Arkansas 11/10, vs Vandy 11/17, at Kentucky 11/24)

Note: Florida would win any head-to-head tie with Kentucky or Tennessee, and would also win any 3-way tie with Tennessee AND Kentucky"

And USF drops another one....oops :D

I said earlier in the season that this was playing out EXACTLY like last season in the Big East.

Last year:

Louisville beat WVU
Rutgers beat Louisville in a huge upset
WVU beat Rutgers (in triple OT)

This year:

USF beats WVU
Rutgers beats USF in a huge upset
WVU beats Rutgers (no contest)

Uconn is looking WAY better than I would have ever expected. That game is coming up in a few weeks, will be interesting.
