So what do you do if you're cruising around and all of a sudden a torrential downpour hits and all the water/street sludge gets splashed up onto your turbos? I like that if you didn't look close enough at the engine bay you might not realize it was turboed, but i don't like the idea of having my filters and everything important under the car like that.

I love the remote turbo's, but good call 85_SS, that might suck hard in bad weather. Though I'm guessing your not gonna be cruising in a 500HP monster in the rain lol.

Yeah, i even try not to drive mine in the rain but sometimes the inevitable happens ya know? Besides what about just general road grime? Seems like at the very least you would be changing/cleaning the filter quite often. Even with a March Ram Air setup you're sucking up gobs of dust and crud from the street and that's before the car drives over it and stirs it all up. It just doesn't seem practical for a street driven car, but then that's why i asked cause maybe i'm wrong.

We will see! I have seen a lot of the other remote mount cars. If you look at it this way, that's where the mufflers usually sit. There is some protection up there, and the filters ulimately will have slide of foam sheilds - makes it a bit easier to keep them clean.

As far as rain, snow, ice(!) - I plan to stay far away and or far out of the throttle if I am caught in it. But hey - with the two turbos under there they should evaporate any water, ice or snow instantly!

And look at it this way... to see dirt, grime and such on any located filter means it is certainly getting cold/exterior air.

TO ALL :
WHAT IS YOUR BEST GUESS FOR MY HP/TQ WHEN SHE RUNS???

I don't think the turbos themselves are in any real danger as long as the intake track is tight and doesn't leak....but i wouldn't want a stray rock or anything hitting my turbo either (hell what about speed bumps?? How low is your car going to be?). This would be a cool setup if the Fox cars had the side scoops and you could fab up something to run the filters through the floor board to get air from the side scoops or something like that.

Car is on Eibach drop already. Not certain of the drop. The Turbos are going to be up inside the cabin a bit. The rear seat cushions will be hollowed out to provide max clearance. And no, noby will be sitting back there!

Yes, sounds crazy!? Well I want it sleeper style, as much as possible - so trick side scoops... naah wouldn't be ideal anyway in my case.
