Which is faster and more fun?

If you were to put a turbo on it, odds are you are going to be doing more engine maintaince sooner than you want. Such as Head gaskets. Same can go for the supercharger.
Get a Solid HCI setup on the car first, this way all engine gaskets and valvetrain is new.
Nothings worse than putting some boost into the engine, and it blowing oil out of every oriface.

But nothing is worse then needing that 30-50 extra rwhp to destroy that evo with bolt ons...

HCI for the street. Centrifis take time to build boost and by the tiime they are making max power your speeds will be so high you'll have to slow down. HCI will give you power right off the bat so it will be more efficient on the street. I would go blower in the future though!!

Pretty much what I was looking for. Thanks for the info!

the blower will eventually exceed the stock blocks limits so.....No sense in having the block split and potentially have a rod let go taking out a nice set of cylinder heads

Exactly, stock longblock and a turbo. Answer "C" is a much better choice in every way...faster for sure, more fun of course.

2000xp8- so....a car that makes more power isnt going to be faster if its hooking the same? Shoot I shoulda just bought a Geo....

ANotchAbove- Seriously, look into a quicktime or b&g kit both are about 3k and will make WAY more power then h/c/i or stock with a blower ever would. The 350 rwhp i said before is just a number plenty of people have gone FAR over the 400 mark with stock E7's and a turbo. If you have to save up a extra $1k to do it right why not? Reguardless if you dont go turbo I guess my vote is for h/c/i :nonono:

Guess you never heard of Peak vs average power.
Dyno queens don't always run the fastest.

One nice thing about doing an h/c/i first is that you can run around without a tune (in most cases) as long as you want without having to worry about chucking headgaskets or any of that stuff associated with turbos/blowers.

In what way did he imply that avg power isnt greater than peak power? This whole thread is pointless! What he should do is just throw a turbo on there and have as much power as he wants! No sense in wasting money on an HCI setup when the turbo alone will split the block!:bang: I wish i would have dont this to begin with so im just speaking from my own mess ups!

YES IT RESULTS IN GOOD POWER BUT The blower alone will make enough power to split the block so why bother with the hci? THATS THE LAST TIME IM GOING TO SAY IT

Keep your rpms down, and run a conservative tune. People have kept their bottom end together that way. A friend of mine was on a t trim, spyder intake, victor heads, and a custom cam and never spilt the block. RPM is the number one killer of stock blocks.

maybe you should look at my sig:rolleyes: Im trying to keep people from wasting the money i wasted! Some of you still are not understanding the concept that you dont need HCI to get the power that the block is limited to!:bang: :bang: :bang:

Thank-you Modular. I agree it is pointless, and like you said the turbo WILL split the block.

2000xp8- Go find some info proving that a turbo car making 350 rwhp(which is a joke) runs slower then a 300 rwhp h/c/i car because that is a joke. But you are correct, dyno queens dont alway run the fastest but last time I checked this isnt a supra forum?
