Car run bad in cold weather ?

How cold we talking?

When it's really cold, things might be a little tight at first until the engine gets warmed up.

Once up to operating temp though, it should run like a raped ape

around 30-40 degree around here.

personal question.

I drove like a grandma in cold rains weather, I shift at 2k every gear, like I go 30mph I already shift at 4th gear. If I shift every 3k the tire will spin. is any one here doing the same or drive the same ? Im hauling ass on sunny dry day, but rains and cold i give up  .

she should run better when its cold..and its a mustang! rear wheel drive with a light ass end. and in my case bald tires. so i have to shift at 2k like you said. even when its dry out and i get up in the r's about 4k maybe they break loose anyway.

Now im not feeling bad any more  . I read your sign, your exhault set up is what I plan to get in a week, how the sound like with flow and mac h pipe, is your weld on or whole cat ?

no prob, just make sure youre not one of those people that start the car when its in the single digits outside and immediately start driving. warm it up for a minute at least.

Alway let it idle until warm up. Like in the morning I start it up, then go brush my teeth , change cloth, eat eggs, then get on the car and drive.

Seem like most of the people get into my car and dont like the ideal that I let it idle for a long time, I dont really pay attention to them any way, I been doing it to most of my car and never had a problem with the car.

What kind of tires are you running.

If they are summer performance tires, they will not hook at all under 40 degrees.

Tonight it was 32 on my ride home, and if i went WOT in 1st, 2nd or 3rd, it would spin tires.

It can be dangerous when you turn as the tires are not grabbing they way they would on a warm day. If you are driving a long distance the tires will heat up a bit and grab better, but short distance cold weather drives you need to take it easy

Im still running stock tire, in the front its look like worm out. I dont have money to replace it right now.

Last few nights it was in the low 20s and the car will take about five minutes to warm up. I obviously don't get on it till the temp gage starts to move. But after she warms up she runs like a champ, better then when its warm out.

My car runs pretty good in the morning when it's nice and cool, but after the engine is warmed up it tends to not run as good. I live in Cali and winter here is, well, not really winter compared to other states:shrug: but it gets cold.

When it's near freezing or below, you don't want to just fire up the engine and start banging gears right away. I hope you guys at least let the engine come up to temp to get the oil at the proper viscosity.
