I removed this from the engine compartment prior to painting, and I'm extremely curious what this box is? It's located on the D/S of the radiator support on my '66 Mustang EFI coupe.

Picture was taken looking down at the object:

^^^ yup, looks like voltage regulator.

You can goto autozone and get a replacement one that is electronic, simple swap and plug and play. They usually have these in stock, and solve as well as prevent a lot of issues like strobing/surging lights

Thank you!

Any specific vehicle that I need to request the electronic voltage regulator from?

You car :D

The part number is VR730, they are usually stocked at all autozones. Its like 16 dollars, and it should come in a WELLS box or DURALAST branded box.

Just say you want a voltage regulator for your car, all the new ones they sell are electronic. Take apart your old one and look inside, its most likely the old style with coils and corroded contacts. Oh, and the new ones are nice and shiney :nice:
