IM NEW TO THIS SITE AND GLAD TO BE HERE... I HAVE AN 01 GT AND ABOUT TO DO ALOT OF MODS INCLUDING TRICK FLOW INTAKE, BBK 75MM TB, BBK L/T HEADERS,BBK O/R X-PIPE, CENTER FORCE CLUTCH, ALUMINUM DRIVE SHAFT,UMI LIFT BARS, PRO 5.0 SHIFTER,PATRIOT STAGE 2 HEADS,42# INJECTORS, 90MM MAF,255LPH FUEL PUMP,AND OTHERS. I NEED CAMS! BUT I WANT TO SET IT UP FOR A S/C SO WHEN IGET ONE I WILL BE READY FOR IT. I WANTED TO DO BUY THAT FIRST BUT DUE TO A GASKET LEAK AND A WARPED HEAD I HAVE TO SPEND THE MONEY ON THAT (NEW HEADS),SO WHILE IM IN THERE I WANT TO GET NEW CAMS ALSO(OFF THE SHELF) THATS A GOOD COMBO FOF A S/C. IM NOT GOING TO GET A S/C FOR A WHILE THOUGH. A LIST OF GOOD CAMS FOR ME TO LOOK INTO WOULD BE HELPFUL. THANKS

i would look into some crower stage 2 blower cams. a lot of n/a guys have made good power on these cams, and since they are a blower cam they work really well once u do get the blower on there.

are you having the heads ported? i hope so because you will see very little it any gains with the trick flow intake. some say it will only really help a car with ported heads. as far as cams go i would only go with a stage 1 cam if your gona go FI later. anything above that and you wont make as much power because of the overlap. or you could go with some blower cams. comp gets my vote

im going with patriot stage 2 heads, will that help the tfs intake with any gains? comp stage 1 do you mean the non-pi cams?

be carefull with patriot heads if you do some searching on this site and google you will find alot of people that have had problems with oil consumption because of faulty valve guides and seals. according to the stuff i've read yes the ported heads will help the tfs intake. and not iam not talking about non-pi cams. Iam talking about PI cams from comp.

yea i heard bad things about them to and i heard of some good, but more bad...so if worse comes to worse ill send em back and go with foxlake. comp stage 1 pi are the xe262ah?right?

yes they are the 262. also i forgot to add that patriot suposebly fixed their problems and i red somewhere that the owner actually fired some people over all the heads that were being returned. I think the LS1 guys had it the worst because there is a s**t load of postes that come up when you do a google search. I have also heard of the owner going to great lengths to make things write when a set of his heads dont work out as advertised. I may go with them myself or mmr.

yeah i was reading a artice out of mm&ff about a project car on a 01 gt an they used the patriot heads and so on and claimed it was there best move.www.musclemustangandfastfords.com/0404/tech_patriot/index.html

even the cms(vt) stage 3 blowers can be put in a stock piston engine without ptv.I love my stage 3's but don't think n/a they would be all that great. the stage 2'swould give you the best of both worlds(although the idle is not as aggressive)

rule #1: dont use all caps

edit: id stick with comp cams myself, they are a tryed and proven brand

WHY CANT WE USE ALL CAPS?, and ive started hearing good things about patriot. also comp cams are the only way to go, all my friends have em and absolutly love them. im gettin mine in march, and theyll be 262s. AND I HAPPEN TO LIKE ALL CAPS:D

nothing wrong with all caps. i was thinking either going with 262ah or 270ah,but i heard about these cms (old vt) cams. i dont know, didnt know this could be a tough desicion to make! i appreciate all the help:nice:

I would go with the comp 262s. I trust companys that have the funds and resorces to do good in depth R&D over smaller companys. just my opinion. i say go with the 262s because you will loose power with the 270s because of excessive overlap due to more duration. also what fuel pump you got? hope its not a walbro.

Stg3s are kind of over kill atleast thats what Jim or Scott told me. He said the Stg2s were good up to about 800hp and 20+lbs of boost.
