As most of u prolly seen there was a KB 2.1 Kit on ebay. The guy had a phone number and it said call any time of day, need to sell this fast. So i call the guy while im at work, and we worked out a deal for $2375 shipped. He said send me $900, ill send you the kit, then send me the rest and u get all the paperwork. He told me to go to Kmart and they have some kind of instant money order there.

So i call my mom and she agress she will get the cash and goto kmart and call the guy. She does and they work everything out and $900 is sent and it cost $80 to send it. Right now im havin the best day of my life, me and all the guys at work r talkin bout whats gonna happen when i get this.

Then i get home from work all excited, my mom hands the papers and they say WESTERN UNION. Once i seen those i knew i got scammed. Check my email and ebay sent me a email sayin the thing had been pulled. And the guy wont answer phone calls. Check this forum and there is a post sayin its fake and i seen on other forums too. I called western union and they said they cant do nothing, went to the cops and they said the same thing. The guy is from Florida his (fake) name is "tony arias". Looking back there were so many signs this was a scam but my excitement got in the way.

im not a scammer i been here since 05, i jus never post cuz i have no real technical knowledge. i have over 100 feedback on ebay, if u really wanted i could scan the western union paper for u.

after thinking about everything from beginning to end the whole thing was fishy. i was stupid, the only real positive thing i got to look at is he coulda asked for all the money.

http://myworld.ebay.com/what9612/ ....... not 1 negative feedback.'

btw...... i have more like 10 posts i don't know y they wont go up

NEVER pay with a non-traceable form of payment and NEVER send someone money who says the need to sell something fast.

do a reverse lookup on the phone number. it's most likely a cell phone. the reverse lookup should tell you the name of the cell phone company the number belongs to. contact that cell phone company and see if they can provide you or the FBI the owner of the phone number.

Sorry If i was outa line, you just came across fishy to me, Should have paid with pay pal. sorry to hear your bad luck, thats sucks

its aight. the second i tried to settle without paypal is when the whole thing went wrong. once he said i dont have paypal i should hung up.

It says this on Western Unions Website
Never send money to a stranger using a money transfer service.
Beware of deals or opportunities that seem too good to be true.
Don’t use money transfer services to pay for things like online auction purchases.

I violated all of those. And everyone remember this (from the site too)

6. Remember, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

That sucks man.

But the lesson to be learned is to NEVER send cash to anyone.

FWIW, the phone number you called him at, why not have that traced to see where you called? If the cops told you they can't do anything, do it yourself. Google is your friend.

his cell number was

Posts only accrue in Tech and the Specialty forums--nothing accrues in talk. This is to combat spam and idiotic posts.

Make a thread about this on there are real detectives and law enforcement personnel along with pissed off people that have been scammed in the past. Typically when a thread is made about a situation like this on SVTP the scammer wishes he was never born within 24 hours or so. His name, address, phone number, parent's name/address/phone number, employment information, etc is usually obtained within a few hours and then people there are more than happy to harass the person in any way possible including personal visits to his personal space. Law enforcement will do nothing but SVTP absolutely will.
