Official MLB 2008 Thread

WOOHOO! Somebody finally replied :D

I agree.. the Mets are going to be great this year, but will probably have to play against the D-backs in the NLCS.. then face Boston in the WS.

My favorite team is the Cardinals, but I do like the Red Sox... Not sure why, but I seem to like all the Boston teams at least a little bit even tho 2 of them aren't my favorite in their sport.

I think baseball would actually be interesting if they could all take steroids. Although the league would still be plagued w/ a bunch if whiny cry babies that have no team loyalty and want nothing but the money

Pitchers and catchers report to camp a bit earlier than everyone else, but I believe you are correct that everyone reports on the 14th.

Yeah I knew that, but I was pretty sure pitchers and catchers didn't report till the 14th. I know Seattle just completed their trade for Bedard today. Bedard was still at his home in Ontario until yesterday. I know there are players that have arrived at spring training already but I was pretty sure they didn't actually have to be there till the 14th.

Oh ok. I just know my sister told me when the Pitchers/catchers were supposedly reporting for the teams she follows; Mets and Astros. So I guess I just over-assumed.. my bad. Thanks for correcting me. :nice:

Even though I don't see them going to the Playoffs this year... GO CARDINALS!! WOOO!!! Rick Ankiel + Albert Pujols = nice 2-3 combo :hail2:

I was VERY disappointed that they let Edmonds go to the Padres. He was my FAVORITE on that team, but at least I got to see them during their hot streak last year; September 1st and 2nd. Got to see Edmonds hit a 2-run double off the top of the left field wall and Yadier Molina hit a rare HR in the first gameand got to see Ankiel hit a 2-run HR in the 2nd game :hail2:

My cable company added a "Cardinals Baseball Network" to the lineup of channels last April and kept it running until their season was over, so I hope it's back this year.. that was so awesome to get to watch every single game, all 162 of them. :D

How 'bout those Cardinals!!!

11-4.. Tied for the best record in the MLB :D

Seems like we've got a sturdy starting rotation and our bullpen is just as good as it was last year (58-3 record in the pen last year).. and we've got good ol' Isringhausen to close 'em out :hail2:... Looks like it might be a good year of Brewer pounding with Ankiel and Pujols.. w00t!!

After all of that joking I did this offseason with my sister (Astro's fan) how we were gonna dominate the NL Central and we're going back to the World Series because we go every other year ('04, '06), I never actually thought they'd be winning this much this early in the season lol.. Looks like another long summer for Astro's fans :nonono: :D
