What a day... :( poor mustang

sorry about your car =[ if it makes you feel any better it was raining here a few weeks ago & i stalled my car so the cars turnin on the opp side started to turn & i started to go & this old man pulled out infront of me n almost did the same thing to your car to mine =\ and yesterday i got my car back from just gettin paint & some bitch nicked my new paint

Look at the bright side. You have been wanting a 5 speed get a roller or a four banger that has or had a 5 speed in it. You win that way. Her insurance company is going to offer you 1600 for it. Stick them for 2500 and the car plus a grand for your head. $3500 will easily get you another 5.0.

After thinking about it. She did you a favor. Your car has a lot of rust in it. Now you can take all the good parts and put it on a rust free roller and still have cash left over.

If you find a 4 banger with a 5 speed you wont even have to mess around with getting the pedals and crap. And you can insure it as 4 banger as well :nice:

Wow. That biotch really focked up your paint job.

On the bright side... Now you can get those new headlights everyone is talking about :D

Weren't you looking to get into a hardtop of some kind anyway? Might be the time to find a clean 5-speed roller?

Sorry to see your ride get wrecked. As others have said, that should be a pretty easy fix. If you like the 'vert, I'd probably pull everything off the front end, and get it on a frame machine. Glad that the woman at least had insurance, and that you should be able to get something out of it. Things can always be worse.

she is tryig to spin this and make it my fault! i seriously am so angry about it...her insurance company called me and asked me all sorts of stupid ass questions. like why i was on this road! ITS PUBLIC ROAD I CAN BE ON IT WHEN I WANT TO!!! i swear its because I'm 16 and they want to pin it on me just because of my age! the cop was cool and even said that its not my fault...she tried to say that she heard me come flying around the Conner..the cop was like..if you heard him then why did you pull out?? she was like well ughh. ughhh im getting so pissed just thinking of it!

Buy the car back, find a nice 4-banger coupe and transfer it all over and then sell what's left of the vert for parts.

I'm making decent cash on ebay with spare stang parts.

ryan,

That is almost identical to my wreck. Sorry to see that.

Looks like mine took a harder hit. My first estimate was for $3500. This was OEM parts. Usually, all estimates are high.

Wreck also not my fault. Other drivers insurance company came and looked at the car. If you have receipts for all your work, they should take this into consideration in terms of vehicle value. They did in my case. Cut me a check for $2900. Best news is car is not totaled. New hood (Cervini's heat extractor) arrives tomorrow. Car goes to body shop Monday.

Do you even have the police report yet? I'm surprised the insurance componies are taking any action without it. Do not sign or agree to anything. Gather ALL you receipts, make copies, and have them with you when the adjuster shows up.

Sucks man. I know exactly how you feel. I know its hard (especially on the first day), but keep your chin up. BK is right, that is a very easy fix. Worst case, take the money, fix it, salvage title.

Also, talk to some body shops. They will work with you to bring cost down.

no they said we can pick one up tomm at the station. which is what were going to do. and thats what im doing..pictures and all...im a pic whore so i have plenty of them.

For what it's worth man, it's rare that your first Mustang is ever "THE" Mustang. Some guys have that kind of luck and income...ALMOST STOCK for example, his car is amazing and he's the original owner. But you man no offense but you are still just a kid, you won't believe how life will change by the time you're 26, and you'll look back on this some day and laugh and if you're lucky you'll look out in your driveway at a much sweeter, much faster Mustang. Just take this crap suck it up and deal with it for now and keep your chin up and move on. That's really all anyone can do.

i dont care that its not fast. the point is its mine and ive worked my ass off for it. and ive put alot of work into it. it just sucks so much to have that all taken away from you becasue a bitch and rushing to get her kid to school on time.

+1

I was crushed when my '67 got wrecked back in early '91. It was my very first car and I was devastated, I mean, DEVASTATED when my '90 got stolen back in late '91. I thought I was going to die. It was a bad year with Mustangs for me. Now, I've got two 5.0's that I love even more that the one's that were wrecked/stolen.

Keep your chin up, Ryan or at least try to.

I’m sorry to see this man, but I swear if you buy a Honda ill send GTO over to throw miss-spelled words at you :fuss:

Holy crap, dude ... that's some serious suckiness. :(

As others have suggested, you'd probably be best off buying a four-banger notch and swapping everything over. You could fix the damage done, but it'll always have a salvage title on it, which will make it harder to sell later on down the road (and you will want to at some point, trust me), and things are just never quite "right" with a car that takes a hit like that anytime afterwards - body panels and steering parts never quite line up the way they should.

Strip the interior and all the good body parts and mechanicals that you can off there, and send the shell off to a boneyard, then swap over most of those items and sell the remaining bits on eBay and/or Craigslist, and you'll not only be money ahead but have a nicer starting point. (Notch > 'vert).

Again, sorry for your loss ... sucks, I've been there myself, but at least the old lady has insurance and you weren't at fault. Keep your parent(s) on hand whenever the adjuster or whomever interviews you, as they'll deliberately try to trip you up and trick you into saying things that incriminate you when you didn't do anything wrong - their job is to try to weasel into paying as little (or nothing) to the victim(s) of their clumsy policyholder(s).

Actually, unless it's too late, you might even want to consider getting a lawyer involved, because you were likely injured in the accident (you mentioned hitting your head on the wheel - get that checked out by a doc ASAP, just to cover yourself in case symptoms come up later).

Just keep telling yourself it could be worse...you could be crippled and confined to a wheel chair or something because of the wreck. You could've killed someone accidentally....it's going to be OK. You're pissed but trust me you'll be ok and it WILL work out in the end as long as you don't give up.
