Went to replace the PCV (stocker at 65k I know I'm bad), any way damn thing was hollow.

I started up the engine after the swap with the new part to make sure there were no new noises, but nothing other than what I've always thought was noisy ticky heads (both heads do... and I've been told it's just the injectors)...

Any way lets assume the ball and junk fell in the head... I suppose I'm screwed. I don't have a torque wrench so I can't take off and replace the covers to take a peak.

What's the chance the thing was always hollow? It doesn't look like anything popped out, it's scratch up from lightly holding it with my leatherman to wash it off and look. So I'd assume if it was forced out that there would be marks?

The new piece is white, and has a round base as opposed to the black stockers octagonal base. New piece is supposedly a Ford part and fit a lot nicer than the stock one.

New one was like 6 bucks or less I think, it's Motorcraft I got it from Teamfordparts.com

I'm more worried about the old one not having a valve in it and the possibility of damaging my motor.

you dont exactly need a torque wrench to take the covers off.. just tighten them snug (dont do it if your not comfortable)..

there is a baffle inside the valve cover to keep straight oil from getting sucked into the PCV.. you might have a chance to stick magnet down in there and pull whatever fell out of the PCV back out.

Cool, I happened to stop by the dealer the other day and the PCV that's for my '02GT says it's $44 in their system. It was also over $40 at all the other dealers I called. No aftermarket stores carry them.

Ok figured this out with help... I figured both valve covers had a PCV but only changed the drivers side :p

At least people now have cheaper PCV's available :)

Great link to get oem parts, thank you for the link :nice:
Our ford here in vegas like to kill me when I buy any parts, they jack up price like they have to make special for me

That place is IN Vegas and as far as I can tell is the parts section for the stealership. But they are either cheaper or at least the same as rockauto, but specialize in Fords so it's kinda nice... and I have yet to wait longer than 4 days for a part. They rule.
