Bought Heads and Intake....but...

So I bought a set of used Edelbrock Performer 6025 heads that recently had new valves, seal, guides and a valve job done. They have 1.6 Crane rockers on them. Also in the deal I got a TF Track Heat intake U and L intake. I have a 1995 cobra with a basically stock motor. I have a 65mm TB, 77mm MAF, BBk long tubes, h-pipe, and flomaster cat back, as well as a Crane 2031 Cam.

I was wondering what total power added I can expect from adding these heads and intake. I also wanted to know if the 2031 cam will work with these heads?

Should I sell the TF intake and have Tmoss port my cobra or will this combo listed above make better power?

This is a cruiser. May never make it to the track, but I want it to be a pretty fast streetcar with about 350+ rwhp.

Thanks as always.

Edit: It seems that the 6025 heads are 2.02 intake? They were listed as 1.90. Will these work with stock pistons?

i do not believe those will work with stock pistons

i would not sell the track heat, unless u like having the cobra for the reason that u actually have a cobra :nice:

not sure which lower flows better ,prob.the tfs ..but the cobras look very nice imo

you will not make 350 rwhp with those mods on stock compression ,bottom end with pump gas

I also have my doubts about the 2.02 size valve working with OEM pistons

I would keep that Track Heat and use the OEM intake to put some cash
in your back pocket.

Now ... about your desire to make 350 to the wheels

Using the OEM short block to make that happen is possible Carl but it is gonna
be a bit of a challenge and I don't see you doing it with that cam.

290 to 310 to the wheels is not all that uncommon with a sharp tune

To step up to mid 300's with the OEM sb you are gonna have to .............
1) go pretty aggressive on the cam
2) after market heads that flow well
3) get as much compression as you can ... head cut ... thinner hg's
4) a mid length runner intake ... porting would be highly advisable
5) long tube headers ... OR mid pipe ... low restriction mufflers
6) a razor sharp tune ... NOT ... a bump of fuel pressure or twist of the dizzy

You can expect the following with such a combo .................
93 grade gas will be needed
idle will be a bit snarly
high gas consumption

Can this be true?

I emailed the guy I bought the heads from about the 2.02 intake valve issue and he said the following:

"they are 190, 160, i recently had new valves installed and thats what the work order called for"

Can you switch to different sized valves?

I have never heard of this.

If anyone can tell me if this is possible I would be thankful. I just want to make sure I can use these with my stock pistons or else I will have to sell them.

Thanks,

Carl
