So, Im grounding and pounding at my local outback steakhouse tonight. I go there almost everyday since its 200 yards from my house.
Anyways, I get along great with everybody there. I pay my bill, walk outside and I am having a conversation with the bartenders while they have a smoke. Anyways, the kitchen manager walks outside(the only employee that I dont know) and starts asking about my car. I told him my car ran consistent 8.8-8.9's in its setup, which equates to high 13's. I never claimed to run a high 13, since I have not made a 1/4 pass in the car. I explained to him my last car, and how it was a consistent 13.20's and what I had done.
This guy, around 22-24, has the balls to brag about his "13 flat" car, which I did not ask about nor was in the mood to talk cars. I asked, "what car?" "I have an M3", he says. I tought it might be legit at this point.
I have never, ever raced for money, but for some reason, I was going to ask him to run me for a little cash, or at least free drinks at HMP on Sunday, even with a weak clutch. If you ever talked to a person, and knew they were a "ricer" or an european owning "ricer", then you know that type of person and know what I mean.
I ask to see the car, he points over to an old bodied m3, mid 90's I would guess. I almost fell over laughing after looking at the car, tires, and what he told me he had done. I asked him to prove it to me and show a timeslip, in front of all his employees that are off work now. He comes back with a timeslip from Houston Raceway Park in Nov. 2007, with a 14.38 and says, "sorry, I misunderstood, it was a 14 flat, see?"
I fell over laughing, called him out, explained how he had another 30-40hp to go before he was even in a 13.9 area. HRP in Nov is fast, real fast, and I explained how DA effects ET, especially in Houston. I let him know that more than likely, he 14.38 at a low 98 would more than likely drop a tenth, which he denied.
I pulled out my 8.86 slip, and laughed at him, since my 1/8 mile was .45 faster than his, and my car doesnt run 13.00. I find it amusing, ricer, european ricer, or some mustang/fbody owners that dont really know what they are saying, but have the balls to spit out some crap to other people.
YES D, its Friday, so its a "yes" to your question.
I know this guy has got to be on an m3 forum in the houston area. Ill see if I can find anything later this week.
