ok so im really about done with mine, only thing is I have modded it a bit, new motor and trans, no a/c no p/s, smog all that crap ya know!!

I also took out the washer tank..

so im looking at the comp's website an they say that all you need is one pic from the accident (when it was screwed) and then have the car there to have it inspected and then just have the body oem and your good!! the body is now perfect all the gaps are beautiful...

SOOOOOOOOOo...... do you guys think that they will have a hissy fit for me not having the washer tank and all the other crap in there? I also want to run my e-fan but I dont want them bitching at that either!!

so how do you think ill do, never done this before, and I really dont want to fail..

I had an r-title f-150 back in the day. We had to show pictures of the damage before and then pictures of the during fixing and after. Its strictly cosmetic. Maybe they will wanna hear it start to make sure it does but i dont even think they had me do that.

I fix cars with Salvage titles all the time.

In Michigan, the only thing you have to show receipts for is what damaged parts are listed on the title. I've bought cars that have needed an entire front end, and the title says: hood, bumper. So that is all I have to show receipts for. They don't care about the fenders.

If you used used parts for the car, make sure you didn't paint over the VIN tags. They DO NOT like that at all!!!!

Also make sure everything works. Horn, all lights and turn signals, reverse lights, fog lights, license plate lights, high beams...they even check washer squirters on a car once...so maybe throw the bottle in for the inspection.

Be polite too. Most inspectors I have met have been really cool, so don't piss them off.

Oh shoot....that sucks. Well, you could leave it out and maybe they will forget about it. Or you could run a couple wires to a "hot" key-on source so they will work.

Like I said though, they only asked on one car. Every inspector is different.

if they bust your balls over the wiper fluid reservior, give them mapquest directions to the nearest body of water and tell them to go pound sand.

we live in georgia, just get another clean title from another dead car or drag car
put the titles together and if you get pulled over tell the cops you swapped the interior out of a totalled car
btw my friends insurance agent told him to do this

I do a lot of rebiulders here in iowa they don't check to see if anything works. You must have title and all receipts so they can compare vin numbers basically it's just a theft check.

I was just thinking about this! THIS MUST BE A GODSEND!!!! I have 3 clear titles and I really just want to do this, I also used to work for a really good shop and they could sign off on the work for me, but I just want a clear title so I know that it can be insured..
