ok im looking at a 02 gt w/ a v-2 s trim n water to air intercooler EVERYTHING else is bone stock on the car. the guy doesnt kno much of anything about the car. its clean and a good deal but when i pulled into the driveway after ripping on it there was smoke comming from the under carrage so i look and there is oil burning on the back of the mufflers and a lil on the chassis the diff seemed dry so im confused as to what could b leaking. car only has 44k on it n when i hit second hard i heard a lil grid on the gear, it has the stock clutch cant handle the power? cuz i had the cluth all the way down. it also has a slight grind, sounds lik a rubbing on the drive shaft sound once or twice, last part is he never did any up keep with the power cooler, dont know anything about these could this b harmful to the cooler?

oil that far back? i say tranny. because if it were engine oil it would be on the exuast further up. I would take it to a good shop and see what they find. as for the clutch, I would say the cable needs to be adjusted. its easy just pull the clutch pedal back unitll you here a pop/click and push it to the floor you should hear a ratcheting sound if you dont then the cable is probably stretched. they are about $100. I wouldnt worry about the aftercooler too much. look in the resivoir and see how the coolant looks. if it looks good then its probably fine.

Oil burning off the mufflers, sounds more like rear end dope slinging out of the pinion gasket. I have seen that on a ton of Mustangs. It needs a pinion gasket. 2nd gear grinding and a clutch problem is a bad clutch. It probably isn't disengaging. Seen that a couple times on my own cars, (and many times on Stangnet...:D) Grinding isn't always a bad trans, it could be the clutch.
