Anybody hear of this or get the notifivation for a "accelerator assembly cover" recall? Just got it in the mail and was wondering what the problem is and if anyone else has gotten it.

Some of the Terminators have a condition that is not just scary, but downright dangerous. The carpeting on the firewall behind the gas pedal can slip down a little and actually bind and hold onto the accelerator when you go WOT! This had never happened on my car, but I read about plenty where it did happen. Take it in and Ford will put a plate behind the gas pedal that will prevent the carpet from coming in contact with the pedal.

Yep, thats the one. Guess I will call the local dealership... well first I will look at the problem and see if it is a problem and if I can do something about it

You might as well do it as soon as possible. My car didn't have the problem, but you never know about the future. It actually kind of looks good, in a way, like it is something from the factory and it probably should be on all cars.

Either way, it isn't something that you should do yourself and it only takes a few minutes at the dealership to take care of. You could never do this properly on your own.

I had to go to the dealer and just for fun I took mine in with the letter and told them to fix it. The look on the service guys face was worth it all. He handed me the little plastic thing and said "Here! now they will stop sending you the letters"

Man, if that is the case, I would go to the higher-ups here. I am sure that there are people in Ford or in some other agency that they don't want to hear from. They are certainly obligated to fix this problem. Either that or find another dealer and tell your present one to stuff it. That is where it would end with me.

03 Sonic helped me find out mine was fixed before it was delivered when new :nice:
Wonder why I got the letter?

If you are responding to me then you may not understand. I dont have a interior. I dont even have a dashboard or anything. My car is a fully built road race car.
