Jay Cutler is the AFC offensive player of the month.

Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler will be named AFC Offensive Player of the Month for September, the National Football League informed the Broncos on Wednesday.

Cutler's selection as AFC Offensive Player of the Month is the first such award of his three-year career. It marks the first time in seven seasons that a Bronco has received AFC Offensive Player of the Month with quarterback Brian Griese earning that honor for his performance in September of 2001.

Cutler helped the Broncos to a 3-1 record and a first-place standing in the AFC West in September, completing 102-of-157 (65.0%) passes for 1,275 yards with nine touchdowns and four interceptions for a 98.6 passer rating. He led the AFC and ranked second in the NFL in both passing yards (1,275) and completions (102) while placing third in the league in touchdown passes (9).

Selected by Denver in the first round (11th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft from Vanderbilt University, Cutler registered an AFC-best three 300-yard passing games in September that tied for the most in the NFL. He finished the month with two of the top three single-game yardage totals by an AFC passer.

In addition, his four touchdown passes in a win against San Diego (9/14) marked the second-highest single-game total in the NFL for September. His 36 completions against the Chargers tied a Broncos single-game franchise record and were an AFC high for the month.

Cutler's selection as AFC Offensive Player of the Month marks the 10th time a Bronco has earned that award since it was initiated by the NFL in 1986. He is the third Denver quarterback to receive the award, joining Griese (September 2001) and John Elway (November 1997 and October 1996)

Jay Cutler To Be Named September's AFC Offensive Player of theMonth - Mile High Report

Ok well obviously there are levels just below brady/P.manning and I think your guy is right at that level..

What pissed me off is the romo as talented as brady thing..

Here we go again. You wanna lick his balls?

to be fair to 5.0 kid cutler is having a good start to this season.. but it is too early to rank him in the top qb's

Other than the big two I would take big ben ( I can not spell his name) before cutler.. I also would take E.manning, I would take romo, after that I would start to consider cutler but there is also some good qb's right in that group below, such as brees, rivers, farve ( at this point of his career, 10 years ago he would be in the top 3)

He is a good Qb. I just mean this kid thinks he craps gold bricks or something.

I guess Redline and I aren't the only one seeing it.

I agree. Roethlisberger is a damn good QB, 3rd best in the NFL. I'd take Eli right behind him, followed by Rivers and Romo. Cutler will be good in time, but he still has a lot to prove.

:stupid:

Yeah... you are right.

Your steelers are having some tough luck with injuries this year.. Do you thin k they can still take advantage of a weakened pats and so far looking weakened colts?

I think they can, as bad as I hate to say it. (no offense to Steelers fans) :(

Steelers will probably look to beat them down this year after the game last year, if they think the way I do. Since the Pats brought out little trick plays and kept the scoring going way past the point of any attempt of a comeback. Is it just me or are the Steelers and Pats getting a pretty good rivalry going on?

I'm curious to see what the Steelers will do with 3/4 of their running backs out of the game (unless Davis comes back this week).

A traditional running team with no running backs is kind of a bad combination...haha.

Well, maybe they'll pass more, I wish they would anyway.

I think Roethlisberger is a good QB too (well, when he isn't dealing with some nagging injury)...it always amazes me how he does when he's being pressured. Last week during the game, they said Ben's QB rating, when he's been contacted by the defense, is 89, highest in the NFL. Helps that he's a big guy, of course, he can take a hit and still get away or wrestle away from a defender.

I just don't want to see another example of the offensive line playing like they did against the Eagles...EVER :nonono:

It started way back in pre season and has not stopped. There are always key injuries every year but I have never seen so many injuries reshape the NFL so much

No kidding, it's freakish! I was shocked when Osi went down and thought that might be the biggest injury of the year. But then Brady went down, followed by Merriman, then Willie Parker, and so on. It's crazy. :nonono:

You guys should have got Chris Simms. He's no Brady, but I think he'd have done good enough to make a playoff run with.

Not sure what's left in the QB free agent market, but Simms was pry the best available.

I dunno, I think they should have tried and worked out a deal to get Jay Cutler. He is the most accurate QB in the NFL w/ the best arm

Jay Cutler is sooo good that he tells the defense what the play is, the pass patterns and who his primary receiver is before each play. Jay Cutler is sooo good that he can fumble the ball in front of the ref's and they dont even call it b/c.....Jay cutler does not fumble the ball...ever. When Jay Cutler throws an INT its done on purpose just to give the other team a fair chance to try and catch up b/c the Bronco's are so dominate they just dont want all the attention the 07 Patriots got.

Only problem is it's really hard to get somebody up to speed mid season.. Hopefully one of the guys we have now can at least keep the offense on the field

He sure would be a big improvement over matt cassel.. maybe he would throw the ball or do something other than panic and hold it and get sacked.

This comment below is not as a moderator and I am not asking you guys to stop just a comment ( I don't want to mod in this thread after what happened last year)

Lets not have a pile on..

I am glad my PC broke the day of the SB since I probably would have gone off the handle with the pile on that was targeted at redline. I really don't want to see another member suffer the same thing
