4cyl wire harness compatibility

i have a 1988 5.0 sd mustang donor car that i am looking to swap into a 89 4cyl.

just wondering if the harnesses are going to match up without any splicing?

I'm pretty sure the 89 harness is a 1 off piece. The 89 dash harness will not mate w/the 88 5.0 engine harness.

it will be easier to swap all the harnesses from the 88 than to try and mate them to the 89.

which harness will fit what? I am doing the 4cyl swap too. My car is a 93, does that mean I need a 93 V8 harness?

from what i understood it was 87-89 90 91-93

i just wanted to confirm.

so basically I would have to take the engine harness, and all of the wires out of lets say an 89 car and put that into my 93 to work. Because the computer is 91 to 93. Its either all wires or nothing?

87-89 I know are the same
90 not sure
91 was a stand alone year they are not compatibl with anything else
92-3 are the same.

if you have a donor car from a different year you will need all the harnesses and the ECU from the donor for it to work.
