I bought a 97 Cobra for parts only....it's tanked!! I bought it with intentions of swapping the entire drivetrain into Hack Job, but maaaan......I don't know if I wanna change over everything and go through all that work again. And for what?....a 40HP gain?? A Cobra motor is much cooler and is what I originally wanted, but it's not like it's an 03-04 motor.

BUT....what I was thinking is that I should upgrade Hack Jobs front brakes to the Cobra 13" stuff. Should I go through with it or just leave it as it is because it stops damn good? 13" brakes have a cool factor, but I hate working on my cars after they have been completed. Anyone else feel that way?

OR....leave it all together and find a V6 94-98 Mustang and throw it all in that thing and paint it Atlantic Blue, or that new ZR1 Corvette blue. I know it wouldn't be a real Cobra, but who cares, better than selling off all the parts to customers and seperate the car.

Leave it alone...find a v6 shell for it....Hackjob is fine they way it is

That's what I'm thinking. I don't mind fixing a light wrecked car to swap everything into, but I'd rather find a stolen recovery or just a beat up V6 I could get off a private individual for cheap and have at it. I have a clean old white 93 hatchback here, but I want to avoid all the fabrication again.

Enjoy your hard work with hack job :D

Dont cut it up again. Do it to another car.

She's sitting in the garage under the cover and looks so pretty right now.

Here's a pic I haven't posted that I took before she was put away.

Yeah, it sucks when they sit, but that's how they stay nice I guess.

Gas tank stuff....PM SENT.

If I had access to resources like you do, I'd live at work. Seriously. I've been considering applying for low paying weekend jobs if it means getting me in the door at an auto shop. I don't need the money, I just want the resource.

I say do it, unless you still have your heart set on finding a Terminator motor, in which case I'd only swap the brakes. You've already got the hard stuff out of the way, now just pull the 2 valve and drop in the Cobra motor. Sure its only 40hp, but its also a much better foundation to grow on.

Since when is a Mustang really "done" anyway?

Teh Hack looks sex per usual. :nice:

Yeah, working here is pretty cool. I fixed the other two 4 valve Cobra's that have come through, but this one is just too bad. It was a nice frickin car before it got hit to. The front, back and left side are mint. No dings, no scratches, no nothing. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It is a cooler looking, higher revving motor, but man I just know taking stuff apart on Hack Job will suck, because I spent so much time making it all right. I just know if I supercharged that Cobra motor....like my 96 Cobra is right now....a little yellow notchback with over 400RWHP would be insane on the street!!!

if you end up putting the cobra brakes on it. i would be interested in the stock GT brakes. depending on my cash situation at that time. just pm me with what you end up doing.

I will let you know. If I take them off, I'll sell them to you. I've sold 3 other 5 lug swaps to SN members. I'll have everything you need for it. :D

i don't know Matt, it's definitely a tough call... horsepower and potential to grow is always a major draw, but pulling apart t3h uber hack right now after it's all finished and pretty is just a painful thought (and i'm not even doing the work:D) i like the idea of dropping that cobra motor into a fox platform, but a clean v6 sn95 shell would be just as cool, not to mention 10x easier, that's the route i'd go if i were you

chopping into a car as clean as Hack Job is the dilemma i faced with my notch, which is why it took me this long to have my H/C/I installed and running, but luckily mine will be done by thanksgiving!! let's cruise!!:nice:

SVT32VDOHC, do you ship parts? Say if you got a Cobra motor in that I wanted to buy, could you ship it to VA?

I've been thinking about a 4v swap for a LONG time(this won't be anything I do in the next month or anything, just general question)

I know man, I've still been thinking about it all day. I took so much time to make sure wires and brake lines and fuel lines were tight against the body, and not rubbing...I'd hate to take apart all my work and have to do all the same stuff with this Cobra. The Cobra motor has more miles too. Hack Job's motor has 79K and is as clean as a whip...(pulled the timing cover, oil pan, and valve covers, and I almost want to say it has been replaced or something) The Cobra motor has 95K on it and runs excellent too. Mileage doesn' bother me a bit. I've seen many Ford mod motors go WELL over 150K here at the yard.

I would cruise with you but the snow is flurrying around here now...:(

Umm, send me the cobra motor and tranny along with the wiring harness for my car. Your payment will be a ride in it when I come to Woodward...
:D

*straps motor to pallet and sends to Brians house*

It's clean bro, it just needs a nice wash and wipe down. No grease build up or anything like that.

I don't want to talk about sales in the discussion thread...I'll PM you.
