who's got a solid roller setup?

Stock 74' block, made 432rwhp but have some tuning and ignition issues to fix, 10.3:1 comp. afr225's,249 [email protected] .672 .672 cam, Edelbrock EFI super vic intake, 90mm throttle body,17/8'' kooks headers,3'' x-pipe, 3'' magnaflows here is a short idle vid.
410W+Idle+Clip

Dude our combos are so close its not even funny. But I hope ur magnaflows are keeping ur car quiet because it should sound alot lounder than that...but seriously the only difference is im carb, alittle more comp, and I have alittle more intake duration.

The sound isn't that great, its pretty damn loud in person..

Just got done put a 347 with a flat tappet solid cam with cnc canfield heads and a holley systemax on it together. sounds good at idle and up to 3000rpm. (fuel pump went out). Going to put a new pump in it tonight and see how it does. Seems like it pull alote hard than the old setup.

Flat tappet cams in theroy should make more torque down low do to the lifter opening acceleration rate is fast for about the first .300 of lift. The down side is the increased friction and the lifters wanna "take off" from the cam lobe do to having to use lighter springs than is roller counter part.

What oil do you use?

Oil now a days is a flat tappet cams biggest issue because they are taking more and more of the anti-wear additives out (such as ZDDP and phosphorus) as well as adding more detergent witch increases friction. You can literly round a lobe if you use unfriendly oil and have moderate spring pressure.
