top rpm before no more power

yeah my 60ft is terrible burn threw 1st and half of 2nd i keep it in 3rd about 5000 rpm at the end of the 1/4 i know gears are what i need but it will ruin gas milage at 65 mph im running 1700 rpm perfect for road what size tires would be around the same as 373 gears

Don't trust the stock tachometer. It's almost guaranteed to be off by a few hundred rpm or more at high speeds. Your mph indicates a pretty strong trap speed for a 5.0, so you're probably shifting it where you should be.

If you're going off of a shift light or an aftermarket tach, then shift it at 5200.

If your doing bad 60 fts then gears arnt going to do anything for you. Your MPH is fine for a bolt on 5.0, but you should be doing 14.4 or so.

one wheel spinning for the length of the concrete off the line between 100-150 ft .I know if it would hook it would go fast just my first time to the track it should be getting down alot faster i have just hoosier street tires hope to get slicks soon

youre going to need a new differential. Get gears and axles at the same time. Only way youre going to fix that problem.

i have 3:55's in my car with a handfull of bolt ons with street tires. so far i ran a 13.6@99mph. you just need gears and some practice launching the car. you should be able to get 1.9 60ft times without drag radials.
i still get 18-20mpg mostly around town.

ok they also forgot to mention that you'll need some seat time to get usta the car. and the best shift point is whenever it stops pullin. id try all this on what you got, because once you get slicks you getta learn it all over again, because low tire psi is a bitch :D
