i still have the cobra hood. going to run it for a bit, but would like to have the cowl on it... i think itll look sick once its painted..

Looks like a harwood to me too... my buddy actually has one (way too tall IMO) but as long as u can see over it, but it looks good!

well a little update, if its not one thing its the other...
so went to go start it up and suddenly heard a tapping noice after it was running for a few minutes... come to find out, a paper towel mustve been caught inside the upper intake that i got used and jammed itself between the intake and the exhaust valve of the driver side head... luckily there nothing was bent!
however after a shift kit install the other day, it caused too much line pressure and burnt out what was left of O/D. needless to say, I need a new transmission.. never ending battle i guess

Looks like you got some good **** going on under that hood. Sucks your tranny went to hell. I know how your feeling though man. The truck rebuild is not going to plan AT ALL. I'm still waiting on the guy to do my engine I dropped off 7 months ago

Wow man, I remember this thread from last summer. So when you pulled the engine, did you do a rebuild on the bottom end also?
nope, i just took it out and just cleaned everything up... there was some sludge build up from over the years on the pistons, so we cleaned all that off... sprayed the block black... nothing crazy
but yeah this thread definitely was a little old, i figured id reuse it instead of making a new one.. just incase people wanted to see the gathering process all over again
as far as the tranny problem goes, going to take the car back home from the race shop saturday.. i have 1st, 2nd and 3rd but just no O/D... so sort of hard to drive on the highway.. i have my original transmission still in the yard, so i am going to have that rebuilt. the new Edge Racing stall I have is going to get sent back and be tightened... Andre suggested a 3200, but everyone at the race shop thought 3200 was a little too radical for me and suggested I go with a 2400, so that I will do. hopefully i can get everything done soon, just time and money plays a huge factor... sort of sucks modding DDs, but **** happens i guess, right?

I was thinking the same thing, but its not for everyone. So how did you like the power before the tranny gave out? Is it all the fun that everyone claims? Now those of you with fully built engines, dont go chiming in and poking fun, I have a stocker still.
A manual ain't that hard to learn. Once you get the hang of it, it's really easy. The manual is certainly more efficient, more power gets to the wheels than the wasteful AODE. I'm a recent convert myself. But, to each their own.

thats why i bought the car, because of the auto... trust me, the choice of switching to a manual has crossed my mind a few times, just im really not that big into manuals at the end of the day... i really like the simplicity of an auto. if i were to get another mustang aside from my current one, i would probably get a manual but it would be something i wouldnt drive every day... idk, just my feelings thats all...
as far as the power, it was DEFINITELY noticable... the B31 is VERY responsive and sounds great too... i was down a side street going home and my buddy told me to wack it and bring it up to around 3000, at the time i was cruising around 2000... i never EVER saw my car climb through the RPMs that quick... did i mention it sounded great yet?
true story, i will completely agree with u as far as efficiency/power to the wheels. just not my cup o'tea.. only upside to me having an auto is that if i need to use my gf's expedition, shes able to take the mustang without having a problem... and she doesnt even think twice of when i ask to use her truck, its always a yes... i wonder why? LOL hey, she said she always wanted a stang with a big cowl hood... so we'll see how she enjoys driving the car after its tuned and the harwood is installed

My bud bought his car for the auto as well... once he did some mods and the atuo gave out again he did the TKO swap... I gotta say I hate his TKO but he loves having a stick....
