Bluffing024 *OFFICIAL* 2009 NFL Thread

lub u too :D

redline you still whining? you think throwing out numbers is gonna change my mind on who i think is the greatest? if i had to put them in order it would go montana, marino, then favre/elway (can't pick between those 2) brady yea def has the potential to be the BEST of all time but if he was to leave or get permanently injured in the next year or so he would be like barry sanders, ppl would be saying that he could have been the greatest or that he would have been the greatest. brady makes it 3-5 more years at the pace he is going then yea i will probably say he is the greatest myself.

that being said redline (still don't kno why the hell u changed ur name) ur a hoe.

svt you're a loser.

im off to bed later girls.

It's ok redline he don't get it.. some people are just a little special (slow) and we need to be nice to them :p

oh belive me Im being nice :D

Speaking of the challenged where is that gt5.0kid he does not show up and post in here opening weekend he is getting banned and his avatar will be a giant gay pride flag then I will find a thread he posted in and sticky it to the top of every board on the forum with his giant gay pride flag

Maybe I will rename the nfl thread the " bluffing024's gt5.0kid is a homo/ official nfl thread" if he does not show

you mean the cutler nut swinger? One season wonder I would suspect. Very few stick w/ this thread from year to year.

I respect the opinions of the coaches, but I have very little respect for the opinions of much of the media.. I hardly consider them professional football minds..

Yes, many of them are idiots but there are some good ones too. It will take some time after Brady & Payton retire to get a feel for where they fit in overall history. No matter what, most fans will always have their own opinion of who is #1 and it will be hotly debated.

There are going to be two glaring factors that will always separate Brady and Manning (as of how things stand now)

1. Brady had for most of his career had sub par mediocre receivers while Manning had the likes of Reggie Wayne and Harrison. Brady played in the outside elements of New Englad and Manning played in a Dome

2. Brady has 3 rings to Manning's 1 (to this point) and while SB Rings dont gauge how good a QB is you cant ignore that factor either.

If brady never played for New England I would have wanted Manning in a second.

No its not just the superbowl rings. its the over all better record as a player, over all more playoff appearances, over all better win percentage. Its a lot of things not just superbowls

I agree with those points but PM fans could point out that the Colts had a crap defense most of the time while Pats had a very good D.

the 01 pats defense was average at best.. the 03 patriots were weak offensively but were at their peak on defense.. 04 was probably the best over all pats team that won a SB.. That was a well balanced team.

none of those teams had very good offensive weapons.. 07 was the first year with true WR threats..

The pats won SB's because they were pretty well balanced.. the defense was good and brady was able to get the most out of the limited talent they had on offense..

well not only the broncs suck but he also lost that bet and the agreement is I get to change his avatar and sig for one month starting opening day..

He does not show up by the end of opening weekend he is going to have a sticky for one month with his changed avatar and sig and be banned for the month so he cant change it back

I got this all planned out.. take a tpoic he posted in that nobody cares about.. erase all the other posts and change the title and then change his avatar and sig and now it's right on top.

then after the months over change the title back and put all the posts back.

i said for ME.

How Brady is judged in History as a QB wont really come down to what you think, it will come down to the facts I have pointed out as how he has preformed as a player. Yes the matter but no the SB rings are not whats going to cement Brady's on going legacy.

How he does this year will be a huge step in that

Yeah both sides definitely had their + and - points but I think when its all layed out its still in favor of Brady.

Redline, I agree. But the point I was trying to make was that Brady and P. Manning are close. You'd tend to think to find a "best of all-time QB", that player would stand out well above his peers. Oddly enough in this case, both Brady and Manning could be in the running for best of all time.

Im not taking anything away from Manning he's an awesome QB and any team is lucky to have him but when it comes down to a pure accomplishment stand point Brady clearly has an advantage at this point. We are all lucky enough to see these two play their careers b/c they very well may be the best to have ever played the game.

Remember, unless you are quite familiar with other great QB's like Bradshaw/Elway/Montana/Steve Young, it's not fair to claim Brady & Manning are the all-time best and leave these other QBs out.

To think about it, a good argument can be made for Steve Young as a better QB than the guy he replaced, Joe Montana.

I like Elway a lot. There are lots of other Qb's who are in same category but the way I see it Manning and Brady are still a notch above. Im not saying that those two are the best who have ever stepped onto the field and everyone else is just avg or decent.

Mike makes a really good point about the dead ball era though. Guys like Bradshaw would have put up way better numbers if the rules were all the same back then. The NFL has catered the rule book to make the game more exciting by making it much much easier for offenses and harder for the Defense. So it is very difficult to compare them.
