Slicks Help!!!!

I have gotten 1.9 60 ft times starting off in the 3000-3500 range and quickly slipping the clutch and the gas evenly.. Do not do a burnout..that just makes your tires worse. Just give the tires a couple of spinning rotations.. This method has always provided my best results.. And do not drive through the water..

Why slicks? You will go faster on drag radials all day long, not to mention they are much more stable on the top end. You will never see a slick on my car. I've seen low 1.3 sixtys on most of my friends cars and have 1 other friend that has been 1.19 60ft on a drag radial (69 Camaro runs NMCA True Street) IMO Slicks are just a band aid for crap suspension.

Every car we've ever taken slicks off of and put drag radials on has gone faster! Be it s 67 mustang w/ 521 big block that picked up .1 or a 91 Hatchback w/ a stock bottom end motor and novi2000 picking up .2, they have all gone faster. It has everything to do w/ the side wall of the tire being more stiff and the stability at the top end. Your mph will also pick up on a radial. I've seed stock suspension cars, and when I say stock I mean factory original suspension parts on cars w/ radials in the 1.5 sixty foot range. Not to mention, who wants to change there tires at the track, or try to drive on the highway w/ slicks? All of our cars are driven to the track!

i agree with this 100% other then a nitrous car... but i really dont think we could get the race car going mid 1.teens on a radial.

I could never get a faster et or mph out of DR's.
think 12.6 at 110 with 1.8 short, then with slicks, a 12.2 at 110 with a 1.6

the guys running quick on DR's is just amazing to me

i have had a basic idea of how to make them hook after talking to 84t-top i got a better idea of some stuff to try...

odds are your suspension is set up wrong... also what kinda radials were you running? nittos dont count for DR's i could just about 60 my lightning the same on an F1 as i could a 555R... 1.89 to a 1.84

my suspenson is pretty good, lakewood 70/30s and 50/50, moroso drag springs front and rear, SSM lowers, dbl adj uppers set at -3 pinion. Ive only used the bfg DRs, 275s.

I think the problem is that its a stick car, from what Ive seen autos like DR's much more than slicks

the bfg's suck, if you look and the cars running nmra drag radial, they are forced to run the bfg's and when they go to other events and run the m/t radials they are all almost 2 tenths faster.

i would have LOVED to watch kolivus come out distroy the SSO record on a radial... 7.31@194 on a 275 is SILLY FAST

We were watching the race on live timing, have you seen the you tube video's of that pass. I heard he had problems w/ the car in georgia last weekend though.
