Unhappy, HDX total crap

Also, next time, dont bother "breaking in" a clutch, ive never done that 500 mile BS and never had a problem, drive it nice for a few heat cycles and let the punishment begin.
+1, my centerforce clutch is like 4 years old, and has hundreds of launchs on slicks under its belt.

A properly installed & driven clutch set-up will last a long time even with high HP.

I feel like im getting burned for posting this. Best of all no one is listening to what ive been saying. How is a clutch cable going to effect the clutch from slipping when its set so low its hard to get into gear with the clutch pedal to the floor? Isnt that a sign that the clutch is almost engaged even when the pedal is pressed to the floor?doesnt this insinuate the cable is fine? I must be stuck on stupid because ive been saying this the entire time and nobody has acknowledged it.

Okay, i just finished trying to adjust this again.

With an inch of play in the pedal it will not go into gear. With the clutch engaged trans in first it will roll foward when trying to start.

Half inch of play in pedal, same situation. Will not go into gear..

No play in pedal, Goes in gear, but not with ease. However it slips.

Checked quadrant, nothing seems out of place, Straight shot to the fork. however their is a clicking coming from somewhere i cant pin point. I feel it in the clutch pedal, when i compress and depress. Rear main seal, not leaking its brand new with the kit.

My only other thought, other then the clutch being fried is the steel bearing retainer has some issue. But its brand new, so maybe not. I'll have to wait until monday as i had to do these adjustments on my back and i need someone to help me.

I've been waiting on the info about the flywheel. What kind, new, old/resurfaced, style etc?...... What does it look like now?

If the cable is properly set up (which it seems to be), then it's between the clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel (unless you have a 600hp monster on a OE clutch w/ slicks ;)). I will add, that it's possible to receive a new part that is bad. But, I would first go through a checklist to come to that conclusion...

no ones bashing you, just telling you that its installed/driven wrong, if a brand new clutch is slipping then 99% chances are that its user error
set it so it disengages at 1/4 the way in (3/4 away from floor) then see what happens

Well, it's time to inspect the flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate. I thought maybe the flywheel was mismatched, but it should be fine since it's a kit.

people are saying to check other things because a lot of us have been using Rams for close to 20 years without issue.

just because the engagement is good doesnt mean the shift fork, or the firewall isnt flexing causing an engagement problem. not to mention that clutch cables dont last forever. how old is yours? they can stretch.

i have seen brand new flywheels that needed to be surfaced out of the box. that can certainly cause a clutch to slip. or if the installer didnt clean the surface after getting his greasy paws on the flywheel that is another culprit. not to mention if your rear main, or the back of your intake leaks oil. that will kill a clutch in a hurry. or too much grease on the throwout bearing.

you are ASSUMING the clutch is bad. if you didnt install it yourself, even if the cable is good, that is only eliminating one possible cause. that alone doesnt mean the clutch is bad. the clutch could be bad, but if something else caused the problem, you put another clutch in it and you are going to go through this all over again. is that what you want?

Do you really think i want to pull the trans out.. again? No, i just want to drive the car with no problems. I'm not going to say i checked something and lie about it. I want to avoid pulling the trans out completely. If you read the entire thread you would have noticed that the engagement is rough.

Theirs simply no leaks, Ive checked everything for leaks. The Motor is brand new, all new gaskets. And ive looked over them last time i had it up on a lift. Maybe this clutch just cant handle the power im putting down. It says its rated to 400 rwhp and im only putting down 348. Everything was working fine, its not like the first time i put it to wood it slipped. Im not running any kind of tire on it. The cable is not brand new, its a year old. However if you read the entire thread i'd hope itd make more sense to you about my problem.

Brand new flywheel being resurfaced? Maybe thats the problem, I inspected it and it seemed fine, however maybe i missed something.

i read the initial post. i dont know about you, but at work on my lunch break i have to pick and choose. i wont respond further since i dont have the time to read every word in the 2 page thread.

Well the thickness of the disk is different and also the disk has no serial number on the origional. The pressure plate on the origional doesnt have any identification nor state ots ram. But the new one does. The design of the crevises on the disk are also different.
