Why I'm a convertible owner:

A "friend" of mine at school (that's a Honda owner) made a comment the first time he saw my car with the top down. He said it was "a whole different car"! My car is bad ass with the top down and fun as hell in the Rockies...

I bought my first vert 16 years ago, a 1973 Mustang with a 351 Cleveland.

I sold that and bought a 90' 7-Up vert. That was my DD for 10 years until I sold it to my friend and bought my 03' vert.

Once you go vert you don't ever want to go back.

(Oh yeah, my friend I sold my 90' to is die-hard convertible guy now too)

when i was 16 my parents had 2 mustangs.. a 2002 red GT vert and a dark red 2003 cobra coupe. i of course always chose to drive the cobra but the 02 vert was extremely nice right when it was getting dark.. no sunburn and it was just the right temp!. just nice to be in fresh country air at that point too. verts are great at the right time and place... but i'm a coupe guy at heart. lighter, faster, stronger :).

I just hate when others say verts are for women. I love riding top down on occasions mainly at night time. During the day it's too hot and I start sweatin' and the sweat starts stickin'. But at night, like you said is therapy. With the perfect breeze the ride can be so soothing like getting a good massage after a hard day's work.
:nice:

Or like my brother said years ago: "If your car wasn't a vert, it'd be a POS!":rlaugh:

I was always pro 'vert too. Had a 90 that was completely redone. I (luckily) went the extra mile to have a roll cage done behind the back seat and up and over. I say luckily because I got hit hard in the rear with the top down and I truly believe that my 5 year old in the back seat was only untouched because of it. My '04 is a coupe and I do love it...but dropping the top is missed too.

This is before they finished The side bars going to the rear were done lower (out of head range) and I padded / covered it. It looked similar to a light bar.

The only problem with a vert is , it seems everytime your in traffic and not paying attention that "girls just want to have fun" is on the radio.

and well you just look gehy

That's what the CD player is for  I put Robin Trower - Bridge Of Sighs
in the CD on my Saleen about a year ago and it's still there :nice:

Easiest way to answer that is with a blast from the exhaust :D

Nothing like a gorgeous day, drop the top, pop the speedster cover on a
in the immortal words of Niclaus Cage... "Just Glide".....

They are nice but too heavy and a pain in the ass for safety equipment for what I use my stang for..

my car is 3100 pounds right now and that's too fat, I want to get it down to 2900 since my goal is to go as quick as I can with the power i have now ( not much)

So in my plans it's going to get a k member tubular control arms, coil overs,15 inch draglites, explorer block with notched flat tops and I am going to get rid of the a/c and power leather seats. might just get rid of the entire HVAC system and stereo since this is not a DD and I am getting a truck to tow it.

Yeah that 700 pounds would make quite a difference. I still have heavy wheels ( cobra R's with 275's in the rear and 255's in the front) and still have the stock k member and iron block and A/c and really heavy leather power seats.

This car has no power options other than the P/S the previous owner added and it has no cruise and no abs.. and the rear seat is deleted.
