Today was a beautiful day so my friend Jon and I went out to grab some shots. My car was freshly detailed last weekend and sitting under the cover all week, and*Jon wanted some cool pics of the TL, so we hit up the local parking garage. Enjoy!

Haha thanks man, but not the ban stick! I was just talking to my buddy about painting my mirrors in the spring when it gets a little warmer out. I'm just gonna order a can of DHG spray paint and paint them myself. Just gotta spend a little time smoothing them out, priming them nice, and painting them up. Shouldn't be too hard and they'll look sick when they are done.

Thanks man! Coilovers were a great choice. Even though the car is pretty low in the front, it still rides amazingly smooth.
Its my TL...something's gotta get me back and forth to work...

Yes. On a solid axle car, the tailpipes loop over the axle housing, but on an IRS car, the pipes just sit underneath the control arms because there is no room for the tails to loop over.

These are my stock tails that I tinted myself with VHT Niteshades. Many people have bad luck with this product, but that's because they are n00bs and don't know how to use it properly. I hit them with 3 coats of the Niteshades, let them completely dry then wetsanded them with 1500 and 2000 grit to make them smooth. Then I let them completely dry in the sun for about an hour, then hit them with 4-5 coats of acrylic laquer clearcoat. I let that completely dry for about 8 hours, then wet sanded them again with 1500 grit. Then I hit them with my Porter Cable with a white pad and Meguires M205 polishing compound.
This is the 5th or 6th set I've done like this and they always come out great.

The thing I like about the AM pieces is that the backup light isn't tinted. They sell the spray for 30 bucks if I'm not mistaken which wouldn't be a bad thing to try I think. I got a slight scrape so I'm going to pick them up this month since they are on sale again.

ahall2004 - You can actually just mask off the backup light with painters tape, spray the desired amount of coats of tint, then remove the tape and clear the whole housing. The VHT Niteshades is only about $12 and the clear is about $5, so for less than $20 you can do it yourself if you have some patience. The VHT runs very easily, so light coats are key. Its basically just super reduced black paint in a spray can. Here's my friend Jon's lights that I did. He masked off the backup lights, then I sprayed them.
If you don't have the patience, the AM ones are nice, they were just slightly too light for me, and for $125, its a lot more costly. Plus my car is a dark color, I didn't want the backup lights to stand out.
