I searched and like the other posts say I have 9 bolts in hand. There are six mating the transmission to the engine and 3 for the starter. No matter how hard I pull or pry the tranny won't slide to the rear. I am supporting the engine with a jack and the tranny too. Is it really suppose to be so hard to remove the transmission? Any help or recommendations please.

I count 7 holding the transmission and 3 holding the starter. That's 10 total.
Two on top. Three on the driver's side. Two on the passenger's side.
Two on the very bottom holding the dust sheild.
Did you soak the locater dowels?

I had 2 on top, 3 on the drivers side, 2 on passenger side, and 3 for the starter. There aren't any on the very bottom I just checked. Maybe it was missing
. Can you be more specific on the location for the ones on the very bottom, the only thing there was the metal dust shield. I did get about an 1/8 to 1/4 separation on the drivers side but nothing on the passenger. How do you soak the locater dowels? Thanks.

Use a prybar in the space you already have on the drivers side and try to seperate it a little at a time. Just make absolutely sure you have all the bolts removed. Should be 7 tranny/engine bolts and 3 starter bolts. There are 2 bolts on the bottom that hold the dust shield(not sure what this part is actually called) to the tranny.

Haha, human transmission.
When I did my clutch years ago, I had a hard time getting the engine and trans to separate. I ended up putting a block of wood under the oil pan to hold the engine up a bit, unbolted the trans cross member from the floorpan, and used my feet against the cross member to wiggle the trans around while pushing on it. Spray some Blaster in the dowel holes as well.

I am in the process of pulling my transmission.
There are 3 bolts holding the starter. Access from front.
There are two bolts holding the dust shield (short bolts on the bottom).
Two bolts on the top. Access from rear.
3 bolts on the left side (8-9 O'clock). Access from rear.
2 bolt near the starter on right side of motor. Access from rear.
2 dowel pins (has through bolts so they don't count in the total).

The tranny is down. It was missing a bolt on the passenger side. It was the dowel on the passenger side that was hold it together, nothing a little pb blaster and a pry bar couldn't fix. I really need to get some taller jack stands, my 2 ton stands aren't high enough to get the tranny out from under the car. I had to jack up the passenger side to roll it out from under the car. Thanks for the help guys.
