Removed clutch check out the damage

So I finally finished pulling the clutch and fly wheel, check this out. It is no wonder the car wouldn't even move.

I thought so too. I'll take to a shop and see if they can smooth it out. There are a couple of spots where the grooves are pretty deep. It's worth a try to save over $300 on a flywheel.

Wow man. It looks like the previous owner had no idea how to drive a manual transmission. Let's hope he didnt put the motor together! Keep us posted on the progress.

Make sure it gets magafluxed, you'll want to know if there are any cracks in it.

now, back on track. Good thing you know how to do all this, you're saving a lot of money by taking this job upon yourself. What kinda clutch you gonna replace it with?

Thanks for the tip on the magnaflux. I'm going to put the spec 2+ in. They say it's rated to 640ftlbs, I'm not putting those numbers up yet.

Turns out the flywheel is fine. I had it machined and it looks good, no cracks either.

Reminds me of when my clutch grenaded on me... was on an on-ramp and missed 3rd... all I heard was a pop and had no clutch.. had to limp it home and rev match. organic materials were everywhere in the bellhousing,

i just pulled the clutch out of my car, and the fiber looks like someone took a grinder to it, and the flywheel was melted in placed, and split my pressure plate clear in half!

haha, ya my clutch was spinning pretty bad and it heated up enough to split in half, and melted the flywheel. and the best part was, i drove it home like that!
