94 Roll Bar Placement

Ok guys since you are the Mustang authority I come to you for advise. I'm getting ready to install roll bars in my 94. I'm putting a 4 point cage in it from Jegs and have a pretty good idea on how I am going to do it, but would like some advise from others who have done his before. Here is what I'm working with....

This isn't a drag car, but will be raced occasionally. With that said I don't want to get crazy with it, more or less just wanting to know/see what everyone else has done.

Not sure what kind of quality you're going to get for $139. I think it would be worth it to spend a little more money and get door bars.

Its actually really good quality for what it is. I got that one because I didnt want the door bars...like I said its mainly a street car

Well if you don't want the door bars then it looks pretty good. If you have a Mach 460, you have to move the amps or the speakers out of the way. I can't remember which.

thanks...im more or less wondering how most people run the braces to the rear shock towers without making it look awful...im not going to put the back seat in it, but I would like to use a dellete

You'd have to ask Jegs how it works. It's hard to tell from the pics. Most of them turn down behind the back seat through Mach 460 box, because they assume you're going to keep the back seat.

No one here trusts a cheap 4 point bar. Most cars will have door bars to be nhra legal. It all depends on the manufacturer as stated earlier

ok....let me break this down......This is a street car, with that said I am in no way worried about the fact that it may not be NHRA legal. I choose this kit in particular because I did not want door bars because they seem excessive in a street car to me. I'm not knocking them, I just don't want them. If I were building a drag car or something I would be all for them, but I am not. The entire reason I posted this question was because most roll bar kits (yes I looked around, I did not just buy this one because it was the only thing I could afford) have a similar setup (going through into the trunk where the back seat goes) and I was wanting to see how others did it and made it look good. I'm not worried that this kit was cheap, it was what I wanted.
All I was looking for was maybe some pictures or someone who has done it before ideas on how to make it look good going into a street car.

DID WHAT? they are pre bent and go where they wanna go. Its not like they are sending you tube, bender and jig.

I'm not looking to be raked across the coals here. I posted that because I wanted to clarify any misconceptions on what I wanted. I can angle the bars to go through above the opening to the trunk through the metal, or angle it through the opening where the seats were, or even through the panels beside of the seats.
Its doesn't have to be mounted one set way, preferably as close to the rear shock towers as possible.

I'm going to have to agree with Adam. It's going to mount in a specific way. There won't be much wiggle room to decide where the rear bars go. Not many people on this website have roll bars in their cars, so that's why we don't have any pictures. That, and all the roll bars are designed differently, which means that it's going to be tough to find someone who has that particular one.

I'm not going to disagree with your choice in roll bars. Aside from door bars, roll bars are suposed to protect the car in a roll over. It's an almost meaningless safety feature on a modern unibody car like a Mustang, and people put them in because the NHRA doesn't distinguish between body styles. The same rules apply for a 64' Chevy 2 vs. a new Mustang. If a unibody car rolls over with enough force to collapse the roof, it's just going to punch the roll bar through the floor anyway.

Thanks Kurt, I thought that was a semi-common thing people did and is why I asked the question. I'm still going to install mine, but that's just personal preference, after all that's what makes working on these cars great.
But anyways I did not mean to come off as a dick if I did, I just get tired of people breaking balls on here if they don't agree with what someone else says/does.
