Okay, so we put the stock Cobra intake on my son's 94 GT today.

I made sure to get the 94-95 Cobra intake so that it could go back together stock with a clean fit/appearance.

Well, that plan didn't work so well.

The tower brace won't go back on.

So, now I assume that the 94-95 Cobras had a different tower brace than GTs???

The car is a convertible GT, and the stock Cobra intake is on without any spacers or mods.

Yeah, that is the sucky part, because aftermarket tower braces are pretty pricey. You can leave the strut tower brace off though. Most people say they can't even feel the difference.

They didn't come with one from the factory, but Ford Motorsports (alonge with a few other companies) made one to clear aftermarket intakes and it also clears the cobra intake. I have one. It goes around the front of the intake instead of over it like the stock brace does.

Well... the way I look at it is that Fox bodies never had an STB, and they were around in many forms for many years before 1994, and they were okay I suppose.

My son is a teenager, and doesn't 'hot dog' the car, nor does it even make enough power to twist anything up, so I am comfortable leaving it off.

We have been trying to give the car some power, but it is still a slug. :(

Yep, only the gt and cobra R had the strut tower brace from the factory.

Get full length weld in sub frame connectors if your worried about stiffness...then if want look for a aftermarket STB. Mine has been off for years and did not notice it one bit but I did have full length sub frame connectors installed prior to removing the STB.
