The car is getting close. I used 67 outer wheel wells, and moved the inner wheel well to the frame. There is a another post by me on here with more details. Ignore the short front tires, I'll be getting some other ones. And hopefully someday my I'll get my engine.

Looks good. Ya those are some pretty short front tires. heh Roll out would be crazy at the drags. I'd redlight every time.

I got mine done too. I ended up sending Alex back his kit and going with the Heidt's stuff instead. The 28x10.5x15 drag slicks fit great after narrowing the rear:

Dennis, did you have to trim the front of the fender lip to fit the 28's. I know where mine sits with 28" tall slicks on the top end they hit pretty good right there when you get off the gas. Any side pictures maybe? I would love to run 275/60/15's on mine instead of the 50's.

Yes, I did do the trimming at the front lips and it was planned from the beginning of the project as I was aware of the lack of clearance.
First I free handed some markings about 3/4" in on the quarter, using the center of the old wheel as a reference:
Then I cut it out with a cheapy saw from Harbor Freight:
Used 3/16" welding rod to join the wheel well to the quarter:
Instead of installing the 67' outer wheel wells, I simply used a bottle jack pushing again short lengths of 2x4's around the circumference of the inner wheel wheel. Subtle but good for 3/4" without overly extending the factory flairs. Looks better than the old original flat quarter.
A little body filler applied in the affected areas (plus a few dings):

I have a full 1" clearance at the front and rear of the wheel wells.

Sorry mtaqua, didn't mean to sidetrack your thread. You have came a long way for sure and your car looks great!
you didn't hijack anything Dennis. Thanks for sharing. This stuff needs to be posted all over the place, as when I did mine I made a ton of mistakes. Had I seen this I might have had room for 30's. I trimmed a little around the front, but wish I trimmed more.
