replacing Master cylinder help

All that holds it on are the two nuts. Take them off and it should come. Spray some penetrating lube in the studs and tap the end woth a rubber Mallet.

Was the rest leaking? If so, it probably corroded itself to the booster and the booster should prob be replaces as well as brake fluid eats the rubber inside

Usually happens due to brake fluid leaks....common for The mcs to leak from the bore onto the booster. You'll see a "trail" of peeling paint under the mc leading downwards

Excuse my ignorance but why are you replacing the booster now? I don't think some brake fluid can destroy a booster. I'm in the middle of my MC upgrade as well. Pry off the MC and slap on the Cobra one.

Lots of people on here get away with using the stock booster and a cobra or 94/95 MC. I'm hoping I fall into the same boat. Let me know how it works out for you.

I'm also in this situation. 02 PBR, rear ranger drums. and im buying a 95 new MC. What are u doing about the proportioning valve? Mine started leaking bad yesterday. I just noticed today.....
Anyone ditch the stock valve for a new setup?

No. I have new ranger drums, shoes and hardware installed. The brakes never felt good. Soft pedal, and with the valve leak, I know why its stopped worse than it used to 4 lug. I'm just needing to know what to do to delete the valve.... I'm gonna get the new 95 MC, new fox booster. Can I just use a baer proportioning valve to ditch the stock one?

Oh I see. Let some penetrating fluid get there then pound on it with a rubber mallet. Also a few good wacks with screw driver/pry bar may do the trick. I would keep at it because I've heard getting a SN95 booster in the there even more of a pain in the ass. They are a little bit bigger.

I'm pretty sure you are supposed to keep the stock proportioning valve when you keep the drum rear brakes. From I've read during my 5 lug/rear disc swap, the adjustable proportioning valve is only needed when you do a disc rear swap.

Do some research on the ranger drum conversion.

I've heard that modifications are needed to fit SN booster....
I researched the drum set up and here's what I found...
I can use a T fitting for the front PBR caliper lines and an aftermarket proportioning valve for the rear. This works
because I have "mismatched" front and rears.. the 95 master cylinder will provide enough fluid push for
The larger calipers, and a firmer pedal

Don't forget about your 3-2 port conversion if your going to a sn95 MC. MM sells a good kit so you wont have to flare any brake lines.
