Hey guys, going to get a KB blower shortly. I've been reading posts to see how people like them. I am set on the off idle boost as I'm building a street/some strip car. KB's website shows 2 kits: the TS 1000 kit and the TB 1000-BK kit.
From what I can see the TS 1000 kit is the basic 6 psi kit with an FMU and no bypass, designed to run with everything stock including injectors. The TB 1000 kit shows 8-18 psi with a bypass and no FMU.
I plan on running 8 psi and like the idea of a bypass valve to limit heat at low rpm. I plan on installing a PRO M 77mm MAF matched to 42# injectors, Walbro 255 LPH HP fuel pump and Holley AFPR. I will get a tune after install (already have an SCT 4 bank chip installed, could tune to that?) Don't think you need the FMU with the above parts added.
Will this kit pass emissions after changing injectors, pump etc;? or are you limited to the basic 6 psi kit?
Their website is kinda confusing between the two kits.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

I'd go bigger with the MAF. There's guys on here that are NA running 80mm and above.
And no you do not need an FMU when you're going with bigger injectors and a calibrated MAF. Also, as long as you keep your smog equipment in place, I THINK you can still pass emissions. But I've never supercharged anything and I also don't have to pass emissions where I live. Oh and yes you can change the tunes already on the SCT chip.

Thanks 88LX, I'll look at larger MAF's. Just a little worried about the emissions thing. After spending all this $, I'd still like to be able to drive it, not trailer it. :)

You've got a 4 bank chip. One of those banks should be programmed with a tune specifically setup to pass emissions. If there's a visual inspection in your state/county then ensure you have all of your smog equipment present and in working order.

When talking KB, you need to go with the largest kit you can get hands on. The cost doesn't justify anything less. This means Flowzilla inlet over a Blowzilla compressor and a GT-40 lower plenum. Buy the smaller kit and eventually you will be spending additional monies to upgrade.

75mm TB minimum and an even larger MAF (80mm or larger). 42lb injectors, a 255L in-tank, and boost-a-pump to round it all off. Inlet restrictions suck (literally). :D

Looks like I'm on the same page, looks like the list I have. The SCT chip currently has American Muscle tunes on it, prolly won't work with the blower. I'm going to call a few dyno shops here in Denver to see what kind of tunes they can do, possibly an aggressive track tune and a mild emissions tune. We don't have visual inspections here other than the cats, they do use the tailpipe sniffer though. The car recently passed emissions with flying colors.

You'll have no issues passing emissions with the KB then... So long as you tune correctly at idle for the larger injectors, that is. A calibrated meter will usually not do it alone. There are larger differences between a 19# injector and a 42# than what can be made up for with just a tuned MAF.

Finally got a chance to talk to a Mustang dyno guy today, he actually took the time to talk....
He said the combo with the KB charger (8psi), 42# injectors, ProM MAF, Walbro 255 HP pump, Holley AFPR will work well. He tunes with Diablosport chips (gotta ditch my 4 bank SCT) and says emissions is not a problem. He recommended the KB with the bypass to reduce heat at no boost conditions. Hopefully this may answer any KB questions that may come up.
After trying to talk with a few other dyno shops that didn't show any interest, this guy got my business.
