It shouldn't take me too long to get the garage 'operating room' clean. Although, I do need to spend extra time on the floors. Can disappoint madmike1157 with a dirty epoxy floor. He will never let me live it down.

Hey, the only one you have to impress is you Scott. To me a garage is the box where I work on, and store my projects in.
By my nature, the place will go from a "workable" space, to an OH MY GOD disaster in the course of every build, so a man cave, epoxied floored, w/painted sheet rocked walls covered w/ pics of 4 wheeled exotics and hot women hanging on it is an expense of time and money I'd rather save for the metal thing sitting in the middle of the box.
But then again, thats' just me.

Hey Scott - is your painter going to give you a complete finished product? completely wet sanded / fine wet sanded - cut with the wheel / polished etc....I know how picky you can be....I'm thinking two (2) weeks - that guy is going to be working night and day .....although the engine compartment is mostly prepped and he's only painting the body...doesn't he have most of the car to prep as well? ...just wondering.....I was thinking of throwing my wifes Volvo into maaco for a one stage either enamel or urthane paint job and "they' said that they will need it for at least week?

I loved how custom your turbo piping was and the partial hiding of it in the fender. The false floor with a subwoofer, and the overall street cruiser idea w/power.

I'm only sad to say that when I first saw what you were doing with the wiring I was excited, but to come to the end of the thread to see you're still on body and no wiring yet, killed me

I'm no good at wiring, but I love to see custom work, can't wait till you get started on it again.

To pretty much answer your question... no. He will not be doing any wet sanding/buffing. I'm going to hold off on the cutting and buffing until the whole car is put together. I have the equipment to do it myself, so I may tackle that when the time comes.

And yea, he is doing the body work and prep on the body. So all the filler work, primer, and sanding will be done by him. But like you said, the engine bay and front end is all ready to go. He just needs to shoot that. Luckily there is only roof, door jambs, and rear quarters to paint in addition to the front end. Really not a lot of square footage to paint if you think about it.

Thanks bud. Luckily, this thread is just beginning. Took 30 pages just to get the car to a point where it can finally be put back together. Now comes the fun and interesting stuff. I'm still a while out on wiring, but it will sure be interesting once I start. Never wired a car from scratch before...

Since I've been watching you from the time you first posted this thread, I started paying attention to the fact that you have already done that rear bench electronics rack thing on the previous iteration of this car. Did the old version carry anything more than amps for the audio system? Naturally, since you have posted the concept (and it is now public domain) I intend to steal your idea and use it for my own purposes.irate:

No, I only previously had brackets in the rear seat area solely to mount the audio amplifiers. All the engine electronics were crammed in the passenger footwell and under the passenger seat.

Yeah,...you can play that "I listen the the music my engine plays," and I'll tell you that that sh it gets old after it's been "singing" for 100 of a 300 mile trip. The days of sitting in a hot assed car, having to listen to loud, droning exhaust for a hundred miles in a non-air conditioned, rattle trap "lightned" Mustang are so far behind me I'd have to consult the history books to remember what it must've been like.

Man,...I wish I had a car to have a template so that I could follow along w/ this build,....I'm serious......you might think I'm kidding, but I am so stealing your ideas when the "Mont" finds it's way into my garage.That false floor rear amp/electronics box is a cool assed idea.

Hey no problem Mike. Imitation is the finest form of flattery, right? Building that whole mess of 1/2" framing was a lot of fun to do. Kind of had to think it all up as I went. I do ask one favor of you though....

I have yet to come up with a trick way of mounting the MDF carpeted floor (yet to be built) to the metal framing. I need something that will hold the floor down without rattling, yet enables me to remove the floor to easily access the battery/subwoofer when need be. I was thinking either some type of magnet in strategic locations, or some kind of 1/2" wide clip arrangement to hold everything down. Come up with an awesome solution for me and we'll call it even
