Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

Picked this up a few weeks ago. It's a pretty nice place to be when you spend as much time as I do sitting in traffic. Thought this would be a fun car to drive. Maybe when I get this paid down a little I can start working on a more aggressive setup for the Mustang.

The acceleration feel isn't as fast as I thought it would. Some cars just don't feel fast though, like 4th Gen Camaros. Don't know why. Handling wise, I can feel that it would be very hard to unstick it. It's not like I am going to push it to a lateral G on the street any time soon. The clutch was a bear until it broke in, but now it's a totally docile car that you can drive anywhere. It has 4 doors, and I can fit a rear facing car seat in it, which is basically why I bought it in the first place. Got tired of borrowing the wife's car or having my son ride in the front of the pickup truck.

You know I never felt my Coyote powered 2011 GT with 3.55 gears and an manual felt that fast. I think it was just that the power came on so smooth. Of course then I bought my fox, and dang this thing is slow. The fox does have good low end torque though that makes it fun to drive.

My wife decided to total another car, so we got her an Audi with a little four cylinder that's turbo charged.

It's totally deceptive on how quick it picks up speed. I think I'm at about 40 and look down to realize I'm going over sixty! I don't feel any punch getting there, I just am all of the sudden.

Holy :poo:, nice car man. I lust after those things.

IMO, modern small displacement turbo cars don't feel as fast as they look on paper. The engine isn't big enough to move the car when it's not in boost, so you constantly feel like you're "working" to get the car to accelerate.

But still... Drift mode, launch control... Damn I love the RS. Ford finally made a performance car attainable by the everyman that isn't a Mustang that's actually worth a damn, IMHO.

That's probably very true. The twin scroll turbocharger technology definitely works. It's at almost full boost in 1/2 a second in any gear, at any rpm. That's definitely one of the plus boxes I would check; if you are in 6th gear on the highway going 70 and you need to get out of someone's blindspot, it's at 85 pretty darn quick. You never need to downshift.

I almost bought one of those myself, if I didn't need a truck I would have. Lots of fun to drive and the aftermarket for them is very strong.

I know the feeling. I still have my 02' F150, but I am not going to pretend like it's a terribly desirable truck. At least I have one when I need to do truck things.

I traded in my wife's old 99' Mitsubishi Mirage for this. I had been using it as an airport beater car for that last 4 years. Just couldn't stand driving it anymore. You know you have done well when you have driven a car down to a trade in value of $250.

So this car makes us an all Ford Family:

95' Mustang
02' F150
11' Fusion
17' Focus.

Even in the color I like.

You know the funny thing is, I didn't have any trouble finding one in gray, which to me was the obvious choice. I had trouble finding one without a sunroof. Can't possibly imagine why someone would want a sunroof in Georgia. Weirder things have been ordered though. I had a dealer that was dying to get me into a 2016' leftover he had, but they had ordered it with the extra set of winter tires and wheels. Can't figure out why a dealer would do that in Georgia.

Very nice ride! Back in December I parted ways with my 01 Escape and picked up a 14 Fusion. The Escape was good to me but it was time, and man do I love the Fusion. It's not the Titanium but has almost all the bells and whistles. I wouldn't settle for anything less than the 2.0 Ecoboost.
