Hi, I'm Magnus and I'm new here. I've looked everywhere for a classic American car but Dakar isn't the kind of place where you'll find a car like that. After months of searching it turns out that there is a garage full of Mustangs in my own street! I was very suprised. The owner has 2 foxbodies and 1 and a half II's. The II's belonged to his son who unfortunately died in one of them in a traffic accident and since then he parked all of his Mustangs in a garage and didn't do anything with them. The crashed Mustang II has an automatic gearbox and a 2.8 V6 with the 3 port heads, the body of the other one used to have a 4 speed manual and a V6 too, the blue foxbody has a Toyota inline 4 and rotten floor and the white foxbody I'm interested in had a Pinto 2.3 with automatic gearbox but there's no engine in it right now. If I buy it I'll probably put a Buick 215 in it because of the lack of other V8's. Here are the pics:

Welcome to stangnet
A 215 buick is a little rare here, not impossible but rare, those look pretty ruff, I've seen worse.
Get the deal done and keep us posted on the 79-93 fox forum,
Good to have you with us.

Turns out the white one I want is a Ghia. Sad that the owner only has v6 and pinto engines. It's nearly impossible to find any sort of Ford v8 so I'll probably have to get the Buick v8 which I'd rather not have in a Mustang.

Welcome to Stangnet Magnus.

Dakar huh? Yeah, parts availability may be a little challenging for you.

I can't imagine what it might cost to get parts sent to you from the States.

Like JR mentioned though, look around our '79-'95 subforums for your fox bodies. Maybe someone might be able to offer some advice or help for you there.

It's good to have you with us, good luck brother.

Walk away.

I've visited Dakar and I can tell you, there are Mustangs out there that are not all beat to :poo:.

Finding a V8 car out there that's not beat to :poo: may be more of a challenge. The problem is that when folks get their hands on one they go out and do their best to destroy them.

Most Mustangs are recent ones, usually modified with horrible shiny rims and weird lights, there are a few SN-95's too. Putting a Buick engine in a Ford feels weird but I'm not a fan of the Cologne V6. I'm excited to get the Foxbody but first I'll have to fix an abandoned Supra A60 I found so I have some extra money. The owner didn't put the Foxbody for sale, it just sits in his garage he doesn't need extra space so I'll do things relaxed and see what I'll do after the Supra is fixed, the Foxbody won't go anywhere.
