Build Thread The Hoopty Chronicles - New House, New garage, New Car?

I'd defer to the FSM wiring diagrams over that online universal graphic. What year you need?
1990, but I think I figured it out. See below:

Spent literally all day in the garage with a buddy and a case of beer. When the harness didn’t match up the way I needed, we went through each sensor plug on the harness and wrote down the colors. The common colors were black/white and grey/red wires. From there, we turned on the ignition and found 5v at the black/white wires so we now knew what was what.

From there, I used the blue and yellow/green wires in the TFI harness as signal wires for the cam and crank signals and cut up the factory MAP harness to use the 5v VREF and ground wires for the sensors. I combined them into the TFI harness and stripped out what I didn’t need and ended up with a nice, tidy wire loom for my ignition inputs.

Unfortunately, my low mount coils weren’t even remotely close to fitting with the headers, so it’s time to look into plan B: mounting under the frame rail or plan C: mount on fire wall.

Here’s the pics of my finished wiring products:

I’m going to tuck the main engine harness up under the fire wall pinch weld when I get back out in the garage sometime.

So that’s where we are now. Wife is having labor symptoms so who knows when I’ll get to pick this back up. I got in trouble yesterday for staying out too long, but oh well, it was my last chance at a no-kids-garage-day for a while

Yeah, take a break and have a baby. Your wife will absolutely remember having to make you put a wrench down after her water has broke.....just sayin'.......might interfere with future modifications..

haha yeahhh. We find out this afternoon when we are inducing. Maybe today, maybe this week, maybe ____?

Also, for those of you that remember my F-150, aka the PPD - The driver's side front intake bolt rotted and broke. That water jacket in the front started leaking and then eventually developed into a geyser, so I've had to park the truck since I wasn't about to tear down a second vehicle and let it sit. BUT! I've been collecting parts for it.
I traded a MSD box for some long tube headers, I got a HO cam for $20, and a set of 1.72 rockers for $100. I'm on the hunt for some P heads and a Contour fan to round out the mods. I wasn't about to tear the top end down to fix some chitty e7 heads, so all this should net me +50 hp for under $300.
Edit* buying back my 351 GT40 intake as well. This bish gonna be bad. So, for $500 I could come closer to 275 fwhp

The only problem is I can't do anything until June when the truck has its last emissions inspection. Probably couldn't do anything until then anyway, haha. But it should run well enough to pull a camper, which is the ultimate goal.

Ahh, we are expecting baby number 3. When they are little you have plenty of time to work on stuff while they sleep. When they get big enough to run around and play, forget it, lol.

They are the best thing that will ever happen to you.

Joe
wait, they’re supposed to sleep when they’re little?

I feel ya. 10 months old and my daughter is still up 3 or 4 times a night. Try to ignore her and she cries indefinitely. Walk in, rub her back for 1.3 seconds, and shes back asleep. Doesnt sound bad, except once I stand and walk, Im not falling back asleep for a while.

Im one of those "sleep when they sleep" types on weekends. My boys can fend for themselves while we nap, lol.

Number three? You are behind sir. You need two more.
:stupid: I've got 3 girls, girlfriend has 1 son, and she is knocked up with #5, due in June.

I have ice on my balls as we speak... I told her any more than 5, and I'd have to go from suburban to mini bus.... and I'm not going to do that....
