first thing I have to do is get the car to pass safety which means new floors and fix the door sag and maybe brakes. After that I'll be working on cosmetic things like the trunk and door rust and finally a nice new paint job that stays as stock as possible to the original 86.

how are the rails on the trunk lid attached are those just rivets?
I’m not sure if I understand what you’re referencing, got a picture? Or a little more detailed description of the area you’re talking of?

Door sag won’t take much, btw. An afternoon fix at most depending on what’s causing it.

Oh duhr.......I forgot the convertible element here. Luggage rack.

Yeah, they're riveted. It also is a pita to fill the holes.

You are much better off finding a coupe or convert trunk lid without the luggage rack. The amount of time and money spent in filling the holes properly so they don't crack you could just get a JY piece. That's what I did on my cars...

Door hinges just replaced since I'm waiting on my floor pans. Brutal job. Also the rear end of the car squeaks like crazy if you push down on the bumper and I mean noisy squeak any probable causes of this?
