About 15 years ago, I had my '87 GT repainted the same medium cabernet red color that came from the factory, and I intentionally did not replace the red/orange stripe tape that went around the entire car.

I have since decided I want to add the stripe back on again, but I am having no luck finding the right color. https://www.graphic-express.com sells the stripe kits, but their red color is not the same as the factory red/orange color that came on these cars. Has anyone else run into this and found a supplier of the right color stripe tape?

Here's a link to what Graphic Express sells: https://www.graphic-express.com/for...1987-93-mustang-gt-1-body-molding-stripe.html

Here's a link to a photo showing what I am after.

There’s a company here in Albuquerque that supplies us with the aftermarket decals and stripes that some cars have on them here in the bodyshop. Dr. Vinyl is the name of the company here, and I think they have others in the US. I had them make me a blue stripe for my 88 vert a few years back. Maybe check LMR and American Muscle.

Thanks for the Dr. Vinyl recommendation. I'll be sure to check them out!
LMR and American Muscle resell the Graphic Express kits, so they weren't much help.

I will figure this out one way or another!

Yes. Mine is same color & almost 30 years ago, I attempted to remove the stripe because I didn't like the way it looked with the Cabernet Red. No problem, until you get to the doors. It is not a vinyl stripe but part of the molding. I ended up putting a 3M black stripe around the whole car which just covers the stripe on the door. The orange stripe is slightly less than 1 inch, so a 1 inch stripe will completely cover it.

The orange stripe is long gone on my car. For the longest time I did not want the orange stripe either, but the factory look is growing on me again, and other than wheels, I want my '87 GT to look as stock as possible.
