Beers Of Stangnet

I got a Duclaw Pastry Archy Tiramisu Imperial Stout. Heavy but good stuff!

I'm a little bummed that all the DuClaw brewpubs here have shut down. I think the only one left is in the airport, and why would a local go to the airport just for a beer?

Now, to be fair, I rarely actually went to any of them when they were around...but still would be nice to have that option. There is a Gordon Biersch in town here but I'm not particularly crazy about their food options. They're kind of all over the place and the food they have is like they're "trying too hard." I love their hefeweizen though.

I’m freaking jealous of y’all with the imperial stouts you get.

there’s not even one in ANY of the liquor stores here.

Sht ton load of IPA’s though. I’ve lost my desire for IPA’s.

So what I’m really saying is

So a few weeks back my wife pasted a pic of our St. Arnold Bishops Barrel collection and a rep from St. Arnold's contacted her about it. She told him that we moved to Alabama and couldn't get St. Arnold's beer anymore. He hooked us up with a care package from them! Pretty freaking awesome if you ask me. If your not familiar with their beer check it out. If you're in the Houston area swing by their brewery.

The Bishop's barrel series is limited edition stuff they do a few times a year. I dont think I've ever had a number one!

Keeping with my tradition of heavy, high abv beers once the weather starts to get colder, I've really been enjoying this one lately.

In short, I would describe this as rich and creamy, but not overly heavy on the body. The taste is, imo, a great blend of coffee, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, smoke, and malt. The coffee flavor is not overpowering. Well done Founders.

I was at a tap takeover at my local watering hole last night and happened to see this on the shelf.

Didn't get any, but its defiantly on the list now! At $18.50 they think a LOT of it. At least its a 6 pack.

Well,it's slightly less expensive than Dragon's Milk, which is one of my all-time favorites... at $16 for 4 of them. :(

Meanwhile, I finished 4 hours of yard work. What time is it? Oh look... It's Beer O'Clock! :D And it's October, so it must be time to open up a Samual Adams Octoberfest! :nice:
