Fox Difference between Fox PS pump and SN95 PS pump?

Another piece of the puzzle on my Kenne Bell install. I'm going with a complete accessory setup from a 1994 GT. On the Kenne bell I bought the drive is for a sn95 and not a fox. To fit a fox I would need to buy a drive about an inch and 1/4 longer (they're about 400 and hard to find, so decided it's easier to swap my accessories). I have everything else I need, crank pulley, water pump and timing cover for a 94 gt. The only thing is i notice online power steering pumps for 94 - 95 are sold separately from the 79 - 93 pumps, and even the pulleys are separate from the 94 - 04 v6 pulleys. Does anyone know why? I'm not sure if I have to buy completely specific pump and pulley to finish this install or not. Any help is appreciated.

It's a totally different pump. It's shorter to make the overall length of the engine shorter. It actually pumps the water in a cavity between the pump itself and the timing cover. So you will also need an SN timing cover to run an SN water pump. I think those SN timing covers are pretty cheap though.

Thanks for the input. I bought the 94 timing cover and water pump already, my main concern was the power steering pump. I didnt know if I can use my fox ps pump and pulley on the 94 bracket.

Sorry, damn, I don't know how I misread that the first time. To tell you the truth, I'd give it a try. I don't know exactly if they are the same, but they sure are close. Congrats on the SN accessory brackets. It's a much better setup in the long run anyway. Simpler to install, more rigid, better tension, eaiser to belt, direct bolt on for tall deck blocks, and gives you more space in front of the engine to work. The only downside is that it makes it harder to access the first header bolt on each side.

I’ve used an sn95 ps pump on a fox without issue. Only difference is the return fitting is clocked a slightly different direction but it’s a non-issue.

Can’t imagine why a fox pump wouldn’t work on an sn.

My only concern was the length of the pumps and pulleys mainly. The sn95 setup is shorter than the fox setup, maybe it's mainly the brackets though that make it shorter. I wasnt sure if the pulley was specific too, to make it sn95 length.

If you look at how the ps pump is mounted on a fox vs a sn, you’ll notice the whole thing sits back further in the sn.

Do you have the sn95 pulley? Or are you using a fox pulley?

I believe I have 2 sn95 Ps pulleys sitting around.

I was going to try and use my fox pulley and see if everything lined up properly. But through my research I found even the pulleys between 94/95 GT and 96-04 are different. Or at least they sell them separately from each other online. But if you have them I am definitely interested

I’ve heard before that the v6 pulley will indeed work. I can’t confirm that though.
I know I’ve got extras. When I get back from Daytona Monday I’ll hunt them down.
