93 Cobra Boosters - Don't Get Taken for a Ride

Looks like the shortage is now extending to the SN95 boosters as well. 94-95 and 99-04 V6 boosters would work with some tweaks, but noe they are hard to find. Rockauto is doing a rebuild service only.

The $340 on on eBay is a reman. Look for the small green label on the side of it. I have the same booster, here’s what it says

I paid $60.

and I sold it on eBay for $300. Guess there really is a big demand.

Almost all cobra brake boosters are made by Cardone. The other companies rebrand them and mark them up. I true Ford Cobra booster is really hard to find and the price is through the roof if you do.

I ordered mine from RockAuto. Paint it before installing or it will look like crap in little time.
Did you just use black rust paint on it?

I did the opposite, I put a fox booster {cardone) 54-73207 on my 1995 mustang along with a 1995 cobra master. PITA to make booster fit, did it because fox booster is a lot smaller, to make room for 460 swap. Brakes didn't work worth a damn, hard pedal poor stopping. Pulled 460 out after a year, put 302 in, changed brakes back to stock, sold car.

It’s a bolt in with some having to massage the strut tower and some do not have to. You may have to adjust the booster rod so that will need to be checked.

Howdy there gentlemen;

Can someone tell me if there is an issue just replacing the stock booster with a cobra booster on a 93 GT?? Thanks in advance.

It’s going to add assist over the stock booster. With a stock brake setup it may or may not be too much.

I’ve never actually gotten feedback from someone who’s don’t it on how it actually feels through.
