1999 trans in a 89 fox possible?

The sensor is a VR signal. There are aftermarket speedometers that can work with the signal.

That’s an expensive option, so you might want to shop around.
Well I'm screwed anyway. I changed all the fluids in car. Rear, oil and transmission. Seems I overtigtened the drain plug on the t5. Hair line crack. sob. Didn't even use that much force. They were a bitch getting out. Maybe it cracked when I removed it. I put some sealant on drain plug and around that location. So far no leaks. Any other options on this crack. Jb weld steel stick? Stupid question but can I run some jb weld inside the threads to seal if this rtv doesn't work? I dont wanna upgrade gauges might just find the another t5. I'm not racing the car.

You can try and JB weld it and there is a pretty good chance it will seal, but that T5 is going to take some good twisting load under WOT. Depending on how the crack runs, the case may fail under load.

I’d swap the case, but I’ve also done it before so it’s easy for me to say. You’d need to locate a post 92 main case that has the provision for the reverse synchro spring

Do these 99 just bolt up to the stock bell housing or did they swap everything when they put this 99 tremec in it.

Bolt up yes, but those 3.8 bellhousing are a bit longer and index the starter in a different spot. Are you sure they are using the SN95 bellhousing? You’d have to swap the input shaft so you need to be sure

it’s in your better interest to use fox-specific parts as much as possible. Everything will just fit better.

I just did an auto to t5 swap. My trans is a 13-52-238 coded from a '96. I used a 5.0 bellhousing from a '95 (so that I did not need to change input shaft). SN95 bellhousings have the engine displacement case into them. V6 bells have 3.8 cast just below the vents highlighted in the post above and V8 bells say 5.0. This clocks the starter appropriately and allows the correct flywheel (157 tooth for V8 vs 164 tooth for V6). I did need to shorten my driveshaft an inch to fit.
