Ford Racing Z2363 Crate Engine Build

I figured that.

What i don't get though (and not directed at you), is the 90mm Throttle body.
I know i said earlier that i thought the meter should be bigger than the TB, which i do believe, but what i didn't say is that i really thought in this case that meter (pro m 80) was fine and the TB should be smaller.
He needs one so may As well match it to the intake . Nice to just not have the restriction there in my opinion. Not needed I made 728 on a 70 but I’ll bet it makes more with the 90 now and ported on my specific application

Does it have to be? I'd guess no.
But what would be the point of a 90mm throttle body, sucking air through an 80mm mass air meter?
If you are buying the parts new and the engine actually needs enough air to justify a 90mm TB, why would anyone buy a maf smaller than that if anything in front of the throttle body is a restriction?
I'd say at least you buy the same size.

I agree. If it’s my money I’d just get a 92mm maf and call it good. Again it really all breaks down to cost, a 80mm and 90mm accufab tb are the exact same price so there’s no sense in not getting the 90 right off the bat.

Curious, how are you getting away with this in Commifornia? And,idk where you priced those injectors, but I paid way less than that for FMS 47# ( which will be for
Well I think you two guys are spending his money very wisely :nice:
You're all giving me great information. I'll pull it all together and come up with a summary here shortly. I need to run my plan by my tuner as well.

I think we have the engine, intake, fuel system, accessories and miscellaneous items figured out. I'm still researching long tubes. I think 1 7/8" is the way to go a 2" is too much and 1 5/8" is too little. Although 1 3/4" seem more readily available. Can you guys kick that around 1 3/4" vs 1 7/8" for this application?

Honestly 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 won’t really make a difference. I’d get the 1 3/4 if they’re easier to find, but both will suffice.

I think that was my point. What is the cross sectional area on the exhaust ports on those heads? It's probably less than a a 1 3/4 primary anyway. I'd take the better fitting 1 3/4" BBK headers. The real restriction is in the ball and socket joint anyway. You could get BBK headers fitted with V-bands for less than what Kooks wants for their 1 7/8" headers.

I'll give BBK a call.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a upgraded distributor? I really don't want to have a PIP or TFI module failure just down the road after installing a new engine.
Yes , leave a good oem stock one in it . Lol

I still have my stock 89 dist in my car . Knock on wood it’s been great . When it does come out for the dual sync I have I’ll be holding on to it .

Totally agree with this

A 1.6" dia exhaust valve is less than 1-5/8" and that is not the smallest part of the exhaust. 1.6" is the outside dia of the valve, not the seat area, plus the port gets choked further right at the valve stem/guide area.
1-3/4" long tubes are more than enough for this engine the way it is going to be used.

Really? I'm surprised at this. I would have thought you all would have suggested an aftermarket distributor (new electronics being the key here).

I'm digging these old school Ford Motorsport valve covers on Ebay, but it looks like the breather is missing something. What would it take to make these work? I may have to splurge on an early Christmas present for myself assuming I can find the right breather AND these would work on my planned build.

Those more than likely won’t clear roller rockers
