Does the black plastic fuel tank ventline go through the same hole in the firewall/wheel well as the rear brake line?
Trying to route it back where it belongs...
Ty all.....

I'll try to take a look tonight....
I think it comes in where the rear brake line goes out of the engine compartment, then it follows the wiring that goes over the shock tower, then down the front side of the shock tower, then under the battery to the charcoal container...
Does it go inside the wiring loom? or outside of it
TY.....

I don't recall any other lines coming through the opening where the rear brake line enters the engine compartment, but I'm not 100% sure of that. I'll have to swing back by the car and look closer at that area.

Apparently, I got confused. I thought you meant the return line from the mechanical fuel pump back to the fuel tank. That's what I eyeballed earlier this evening.

But, to answer your last query, it definitely doesn't go inside the wiring loom. I do recall an additional line (hose?) or two that run over the top of the passenger side shock tower. I remember ziptie-ing it (or them) to the loom.

Also, you may be able to glean some info by taking another look at my 5th pic in post # 42 of your Fuel Line routing question thread... conveniently linked here :) https://stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/fuel-line-routing-question.927373/post-9405650

Judging by that pic, it doesn't look like the vent line from the charcoal canister goes up high enough (near the firewall) to go through the rear brake line hole. I'll take a close look at it when I get a chance.... probably won't be tonight though. I plan on swinging by the car after work tomorrow,

Appreciate it..... Will look at the old post..

My vent tube comes into the dog house where the brake line goes through but mine is an 89 and has other vac lines coming through there too.
Must be a vacuum line there too as my vacuum reservoir is under the passenger side wheel well liner... Not on that part of the car today.....
Remember my battery ( I referenced it in an earlier post) is on the passenger side too.... Batter was moved in 85-86-87??? to the driver side....
Thanks General...

Forgot about this issue.... sorry 'bout that @limp . After remembering and checking it out, that canister vent line does come through the same hole as the rear brake line, just as you thought.
Hey thanks.. No problem, my Home AC went out friday night, so its been too hot to do much...
9 year old " nuthin runs like a Trane" heat pump.... LOL Bentley and I went to Lowes yesterday to buy a new shop vac and we ended up sitting in some lawn furniture for an hour or so to get some relief from the Florida summer.. Nice and cool in there..
He turned 15 last month....

I made my own path through the front side of the shock tower so it stays under everything and doesnt have to go up over or around the shock tower in the engine bay. It's a more direct path to the charcoal canister than what you guys are talking about.

thanks for the idea... My inner fender well cover is off so it would not be too hard to route it that way...

Visual for reference. I used standard rubber hose and was sure to bevel the hole through the shock tower. The fender liner pinches it a little, but not enough to cut off flow. I honestly wasn't trying to do anything clever. I had no idea how it was originally routed. So, I was just problem solving.

Before this, solution, I ran it from the passenger fender area to the left of the tire and into the frame rail and then up through a hole in the engine bay near the charcoal canister. Not sure I have a pic of that, but it wasn't a great solution as it made me concerned about the tire rubbing it at full left lock.

If your not running it to the engine and just for fume control.. Later model 99-04 canisters mount in the drivers back quarter by the tank above the drivers side tail pipe just behind where the quad shock bracket would be pretty easy, could probably Fab it up to work correctly with not much effort with some extra lines and a little wiring, there almost all ways still on the cars in pick n pulls..
